I don’t know about you but I could smash that in one sitting!

Can we lose weight without attending a Slimming group?
Of course we can! And most of us have!

There are all sorts of diets out there...the cabbage soup diet (πŸ₯¬), the morning banana diet (🍌), the baby food diet (πŸ‘Ά) as well as the more well known ones. And they'll all work in the short term...because if you do ANY diet you're going to lose some weight...simply because you're changing what you eat.

Also, of course, we have all the potions, shakes, pills and patches we could ever want that promise us all sorts of miracles in a short space of time. πŸ₯›

And now, on top of all that, there are so many online pages and groups to support us in our weight loss quest...I won't name them but some are fab, some not so fab and others are downright worrying.

So...if we have all this at our fingertips why would we need anything more?

Well this is why I need more than all of the above...I need THAT FEELING!

If you have never attended a Slimming World group before then I promise you you really don't know what you're missing.

THAT FEELING in group is something that simply can't be found online or in a potion or patch. If you haven't yet been to a Slimming World group...especially one of mine πŸ₯°... it's hard to imagine the warmth, the love, the empathy and care that you experience when you are part of a group of likeminded people who are all working together to achieve their aim.
If you haven't been to a group...especially one of mine 😍... you can't imagine the boost that our members get to their own motivation by being in their group surrounded by people who inspire them and challenge them to keep reaching higher.
And if you haven't been to a group...especially one of mine 😘... it's unlikely that you can really imagine the fun, laughter and excitement that we see in our groups week in week out.

Basically...unless you've been to any of our groups...especially one of mine 🀩... it's doubtful that you know what that feeling, that SLIMMING WORLD feeling, is all about...so why not come along and find out!

Because once you've experienced you wont ever look back ###x

Day 29 of Jubilant January!
So did anyone fall off track over the weekend? Did you go out with good intentions that were snatched away by the good-time gremlins? Did you give in? Did you indulge? Are you already telling yourself it was a terrible weekend? Are you beating yourself up for doing things you think you shouldn't have? Are you feeling like you've let yourself down and failed - and maybe already thinking of not going to group this week because it will be a gain?
Ok. Time to stop. Time to change things. It's behind you and you can't change it but that doesn't make you a bad person or a failure. You can change things from now. Go into a new week afresh and go to group and put your weight result down in your book - not going doesn't mean it hasn't happened but facing it does mean you can put it behind you and achieve something amazing next week. And that will give you renewed motivation. Pick yourself up, dust yourself down and make a plan of how things can go better from now. You're not defeated by a mere weekend! X

For those that go the extra mile the road ahead will be clear, for those that settle for mediocre there will be congesti...

Day 26 of Jubilant January!
Can you spot the difference to your life from when you started your journey? From a difference in the numbers on the scales to the difference in your clothes where smaller sizes and brighter colours appear in your wardrobe. The way you automatically select wholemeal bread over white bread, sweetener over sugar, frylight over oil. Giving a knowing look when someone else is popping quark in their trolley in the supermarket. Finding yourself telling complete strangers how ace Slimming World is, how fab your group is and how it's not like anything else. Rushing out to find the newest flavour muller light that's just out. The old you might have thought that was crazy but now it's a way of life, a new groove, fab habits that are becoming engrained. You can scan a restaurant menu for the best option in 30 seconds but you know nothing is banned and you'd feel no guilt if you did indulge. You know this is a way of life now and treats are part of that.
So how many differences can you spot? Just shows how far you've come! X

Day 21 of Jubilant January

Sometimes we can be so hard on ourselves. We say things to ourselves that we’d never say to a friend. We call ourselves a failure, stupid, ugly etc - if those words were said out loud to someone else could you imagine the impact it would have on them and the feelings they would cause? They would be upset, crushed even - they’d maybe feel physically sick and their heart may ache over it. So saying these things to ourselves wears us down internally and puts us in a poor place mentally.
Do we also put a ceiling on our potential achievements? Do we unconsciously limit what could happen? Is our inner script holding us back? Have we ever said β€˜I’m a slow loser’ β€˜I can’t lose more than 1lb a week’ Stop and think about when you tell yourself and others what you can’t do. If we keep telling ourself these things we’ll probably prove ourself right! We won’t try anything different to get a different result because what’s the point? We can’t do it!
Or can we?
Could we open our mind and ask for ideas and help and then make a better or different plan and get a different result? Could we visualise ourselves being successful, getting that result we really want rather than the one we tell ourselves we’ll get.
Rewriting our inner script could truly lift the ceiling on our achievements x

Don't waste time on things that are unimportant. Time is fleeting and the last thing we want to do is look back with regret about the things we didn't do.
Live life well.
Enjoy what you do, what you eat, and how you live. Don't spend time trying to compete with others, just be uniquely you - and love that you can be. We should appreciate the freedom we have to live our life the way we choose. Be thankful that we can make choices about what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat it. When life seems tough, recognise that it could be so much worse. Step out and do all those things that will make your life what you want it to be. Succeed at being you x

Day 18 of Jubilant January!
When our attitude is right, our abilities are astonishing! Being successful day to day in anything is not usually about intelligence but about us. What's in us, what drives us and how determined we are. We could have days, weeks or months where our 'head's not in it' - heard that phrase? Ever used that phrase? Can you remember how you felt? Usually sluggish, apathetic, worn down, tired. Such negative feelings that drag us down. But when our head is in it - what then? We feel positive, we feel energised, upbeat, happy, focussed. And best of all, we achieve. We are successful!
So what changes. Around us the world still turns. We still have our work, our families and bills to pay - all the mundane daily stuff is all still there. But something in us is very different. A switch has been flicked. Our desire to achieve has been fired up - and that's all we need. No magic powder sprinkled on our heads and no magic wand waved! Things don't change, we do. And if we embrace the concept that we can change, we can change our world x
