The practice of Aesthetic Medicine in the UK is highly unregulated. It can be so challenging to figure out who is trustworthy and not get swayed by prices that seem too good to be true. Before booking anywhere, here are 3 things to always ask yourself and check for:

1. Does this practitioner have a recognised medical background? (Doctor, Dentist or Nurse)

2. Are they qualified to prescribe?

3. Are they regulated?
Make sure you check them on the Nursing & Midwifery Council, General Dental Council and General Medical Council to confirm they are registered and see if they have any restrictions on their practice.

BAMAN Awards 2025, Academic Contribution to the Sector Winner 🏆✨

I’m absolutely over the moon to share that I’ve won the BaMAN Award for Academic Contribution to the Sector. After being shortlisted back in September, I feel honoured, and still a little speechless, to have taken this award home on Friday!

I’ve always been a lifelong learner and someone who cares about safety, community and doing things properly in Aesthetic Medicine. My PhD research, role within BAMAN and support for nurses through Aesthetic Nurse Mentors has never felt like giving back, but simply a natural extension of what’s important to me. To be recognised in a category that I’m so passionate about means more than I can put into words. It’s important work, something I truly enjoy and something I’m so proud to stand behind.

Thank you to my peers, colleagues and friends in the sector who voted for me. I couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful win. Elaine x
