“The Real Evolution of Movement”

It's easier than you think to move from a sedentary life to a more active one—at any age.
Even with pain, injury, or long breaks from movement, progress is possible when you go at your own pace.
You don’t need to do everything.
You just need to do something.
Any movement is better than none.
Small steps add up.
So… get moving.
Top tips to begin:
Start slowly
Move a little and often
Stretch gently
Eat well
Think positively
Your body doesn’t need perfection.
It needs kindness, consistency, and permission to begin.

💚 THIS IS WHY PARACISE MATTERS 💚
New research shows exercise after cancer treatment can be more effective than some drugs at stopping cancer from returning.
Pause for a moment and let that land.
Not extreme workouts.
Not pushing through pain.
But supported, structured movement — done together.
✨ WHAT THE RESEARCH FOUND ✨
People who followed a supported exercise programme experienced:
✔️ 37% lower risk of death over eight years
✔️ 28% lower risk of cancer recurrence
✔️ Results from activity equal to just 3–4 gentle walks a week
💚 WHY THIS MATTERS TO PARACISE 💚
The biggest factor wasn’t just the exercise — it was the human support.
The encouragement.
The shared experience.
The feeling of being welcomed and understood.
At Paracise, this is what we do every day.
Safe, inclusive movement.
Friendly faces.
A community that meets you where you are and moves forward together.
🌱 MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE — COMMUNITY IS THE CATALYST 🌱
If you or someone you love is living with or beyond illness, know this:
You don’t have to do it alone.
Gentle movement, done together, really does change lives.

Paracise™ Love 🥰
💛 THIS is why we do what we do 💛
We received this heart-warming message from one of our amazing instructors on the Isle of Man, and it truly stopped us in our tracks:
“The classes are going well, I take all three. I find Paracise uplifting and joyful, and I know my ladies do too. No matter what has happened during the day, you leave the class feeling refreshed and happy, ready to take on the world… Thank you for creating the best exercise ever.”
This is exactly what Paracise is all about — joy, connection, movement, music, and that magical feeling of leaving class lighter than when you arrived 💃✨
To our wonderful instructors and every single participant: you are amazing and fabulous, and we are so grateful to be part of your journey.
Keep moving. Keep smiling. Keep shining.

🌟Another of the Paracise Movements.
Benefits of the Sailor
1. Improves spinal mobility
The gentle twisting action encourages movement through the mid and upper spine, helping to counter stiffness from sitting and daily life.
2. Strengthens the core (without floor work)
As you rotate and control the movement, your deep abdominal and oblique muscles switch on naturally—great for posture and everyday strength.
3. Enhances balance and coordination
Shifting weight side to side challenges balance in a safe, controlled way, helping reduce fall risk and build confidence.
4. Supports shoulder and upper-body mobility
The arm movement keeps shoulders, chest, and upper back moving freely, which can help with reaching, lifting, and dressing.
5. Boosts posture awareness
Because it encourages tall posture with rotation, it gently reinforces good alignment without forcing it.
6. Encourages brain–body connection
Cross-body movement wakes up coordination between left and right sides of the body—excellent for cognitive engagement and motor control.
7. Low impact, high reward
No jumping, no strain, no getting up and down from the floor—making it ideal for older adults, beginners, or anyone managing injury or long-term conditions.
8. Feels good and uplifting
The flowing, rhythmic nature of the Sailor Move often feels calming and enjoyable—movement that nourishes rather than punishes the body 💙

8️⃣ The Corkscrew 🌀
A gentle twist that keeps your spine mobile, eases stiffness, and supports upright posture as we age.
As we get older, the spine naturally becomes stiffer if we don’t move it regularly. This smooth rotational exercise helps maintain spinal flexibility, keeps joints nourished, and supports confident everyday movements like turning, reaching, and looking behind you.
How to do it:
Stand tall with fingertips together in front of your chest.
Keep hips facing forward as you slowly rotate your upper body and gently look over your shoulder.
Return to centre and repeat on the other side.
Alternate 6–8 times, moving slowly and with control.
✨ Imagine gently wringing tension from your spine — smooth, steady, and kind to your body.

Another of the many exercises we include in a Paracise™ class.

Sun Up, Sun Down.

This gentle, flowing movement stretches and mobilises the whole body while encouraging calm, steady breathing.
Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart.
As you breathe in, slowly lift your arms up towards the ceiling, reaching comfortably overhead. Allow your body to lengthen, staying relaxed through the neck and shoulders.
As you breathe out, soften your knees and gently fold down, letting your arms swing down naturally as your body lowers. Move only as far as feels comfortable — this is not about depth, but ease and control.
Pause for a moment, then slowly return to standing and repeat.
Why this movement helps:
Encourages mobility through the shoulders, spine, hips, knees, and ankles
Gently stretches the upper body and back, supporting posture
Helps maintain joint health through natural, everyday movement patterns
Improves circulation by moving the arms above and below heart level
Builds balance and body awareness
Creates a calming rhythm when paired with slow, relaxed breathing
Move slowly, stay relaxed, and let your breath guide the pace. Even a few repetitions can help your body feel more open, mobile, and grounded.

Meet the Balloon 🎈
We use the Balloon movement in the very first track because it helps you slow down, relax, and focus right from the start.
By gently bringing the arms forward and opening them wide, you:
increase blood flow
softly stretch the chest, shoulders, and upper back
encourage deep lateral thoracic breathing (rib-cage breathing)
This kind of breathing helps calm the nervous system, improves oxygen delivery, and prepares the body and mind to move with ease.
A simple movement — but a powerful way to arrive, breathe, and begin 💙
