Rapid Health is a clinical triaging system that uses clinical pathways to direct patients to the most appropriate
appointments.
Patients complete an online form and the patient’s answers to the questions decide which appointment the patient is offered.
The triage system ensures that the appointments patients are offered are in the correct timeframe needed for the
symptoms described. This means those patients who need more immediate help are seen sooner than those whose
symptoms can wait a bit longer.
Waiting for an appointment can be challenging when you’re not feeling well, but rest assured that it prioritises those who
require urgent attention.
If you happen to experience more severe or concerning symptoms, you will be seen sooner as necessary.

Finding joy in exercise begins with shifting your
mindset from obligation to opportunity. Choosing
activities, you genuinely enjoy, whether it’s dancing,
walking outdoors, swimming, or playing a sport,
helps exercise feel less like a chore and more like a
form of self-care. Setting small, achievable goals
and celebrating progress builds confidence and
motivation over time. When exercise becomes a way
to connect with your body, relieve stress, and
appreciate what you can do rather than what you
must change, joy naturally follows.

Leonard Thompson & the Discovery of Insulin
Leonard Thompson was born in 1908 and diagnosed
with Type 1 diabetes at just 11 years old — at a time
when diabetes was almost always fatal, with a life
expectancy of around one year.
In 1922, Leonard became the first person in the
world to receive an insulin injection at the University
of Toronto.
That breakthrough saved his life and changed
medicine forever.
Leonard lived for another 13 years, passing away
from pneumonia in 1935 at the age of 26.
Just one year later, the researchers behind the
discovery of insulin were awarded the Nobel Prize in
Physiology or Medicine (1923) — recognising a
discovery that has saved millions of lives since.
A moment in history that still shapes lives today.

If you’re looking to have a healthy, wellbalanced diet, you should consider focusing on variety, balance, and consistency rather than strict rules—aim to include a mix of carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats, and fruits or vegetables
throughout the day, eat regularly to keep your energy up, stay hydrated, and choose foods that make you feel good both
physically and mentally.

We’re incredibly grateful to the tractor driver who came to help us clear our car park at Ley Hill Surgery today, ensuring our patients could park safely.
