Comments from Yoga with Lorraine in Manor Park

'Lorraine has a welcoming spirit. The class left me feeling relaxed after a busy week' - Diana

Very relaxing, calming yoga session amongst the trees - Claire

A very relaxing and friendly session, thankyou - Elizabeth

A fresh academic year and a fresh start with Yoga this September.

Yoga with Lorraine classes at St Nicholas Church hall, Robin Hood Lane, (Near Sutton High St) Thurs 8th September 2022 6-7pm. On line 7.30pm to 8.30pm. For more details of the above, and to book into a class email lozstaff11111@gmail.com. Other options by request.

Yoga - will teach awareness of how our minds and emotions are calmed when breathing is relaxed and co-ordinated with body movement and holding postures. As a yoga practitioner and teacher, I have experienced how I (and others say they) feel before and after a yoga class. Comments such as "I needed that class" and "I feel so much lighter and relaxed now" are heard many times. I use breath work and mindfulness, with flowing warm ups and posture holds that can be adapted for all levels of fitness and flexibility. My classes are empowering and sensitive to teaching you from where you are at present.

Introduction to Yoga - No pill has the power to improve so many areas of your life at once

Yoga Studio News Column

By Lorraine Evemy

Between 2012 and 2016, the number of Americans doing yoga jumped by 80%, from 20.4 million to 36.7 million.

Doctors are prescribing yoga to certain patients. Live yoga classes have been broadcast enabling people with severe conditions like heart failure to do yoga at home.

Yoga can ease pain, including back pain, improve blood pressure, reduce heart disease risk, boost the immune system, reduce anxiety and protect you from stress.

Up to 90% of all doctor visits can be attributed to stress-related complaints. Yoga helps to alleviate these complaints, so that you feel better physically, mentally and emotionally.

Yoga improves strength, balance, flexibility and reduces negative self-talk.

Increased life satisfaction, positive emotions, joy and energy are the result of practising yoga.

Yoga is a mind-body practice aiming to cultivate balance, calm, harmony, awareness and personal transformation.

Combining postures with breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation.

Self-observation can help you resolve personal conflicts, anxieties, hopes and fears.

Yoga is not a religion. It accepts all religions and can be combined with all religions, including no religious belief.

The four components of yoga combined affect you in different ways and are complementary

Mindful postures, breathing, deep relaxation, and meditation combine to transform the way you live your life.

Helping you to gravitate towards positive behaviours. Experience a sense of unity, peace, harmony, flow and even expanded consciousness.

Brain imaging studies show that during meditation people can engage the frontal lobe connections improving emotion control and handling. Over the long term even brain structure is shown to change.
