Sometimes the smallest paws make the biggest impact.

Pet therapy sessions always light up our communities.

And beyond the cuddles and smiles, they bring something deeper:
• lowered stress
• reduced loneliness
• meaningful social connection
• comfort and reassurance
• a renewed sense of purpose

Whether it’s a gentle pat, a shared laugh, or a quiet moment with a furry friend, these interactions can transform someone’s whole day - especially for those living with dementia.

Our residents aren’t just meeting animals, they’re reminiscing about pets they've loved, and they're experiencing companionship, joy, and calm in a way only pets can provide.

From the Cotswolds yesterday, to Kent today, Poppins the Aria Elf has been making sure the festive preparations are in full swing. He arrived at Kippingtons in Sevenoaks in time for bingo and whipped up a tasty treat in the kitchen.

Care isn’t just a job - it’s a calling. Every reassuring word, every shared laugh, every moment of comfort in our communities is powered by something we don’t talk about enough: emotional strength.

Our teams are with our residents through joy, friendship, anxiety, and even grief. And they show up with empathy, patience, and kindness every single day.

We couldn’t be prouder of the emotional intelligence and heart they bring to their work.

💛 What does compassionate care mean to you?
We’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences in the comments.

Play can be so powerful, especially for people living with dementia. Simple games can prompt a sense of fun, trigger memories, and help people feel more connected.

From a lively quiz-style game to doing a jigsaw side-by-side, playing together is important for stimulating the mind and opening the door to meaningful memories and conversation.

We see it across our communities every day; a friendly smile, a moment of calm concentration, or a burst of spontaneous laughter all demonstrate that Aria’s homes are a great place to live and work.

Today, for International Men’s Day, we’re celebrating the incredible men who bring wisdom, humour and character to our Aria Care communities.

One of them is Fred, who joined the Royal Engineers at 18 before spending decades driving steam, diesel and electric trains across Sussex and Kent. His favourite memory? “Having a kip at the back!” - followed by a grin and, “I didn’t really!”

We’re also proud to recognise men like John the dancer, Tony the truck driver, Jim the car painter, Norman from the RAF, Allan the paratrooper, Mark the lorry driver, Alan the sound specialist, and Tom the Chinese chess expert.

Every story reminds us: these men have lived extraordinary lives - and continue to inspire us every day.

Today, for World Kindness Day, we’ve been showing how small acts of kindness can make a really big difference. Kindness is something we practice every day, and our ethos of caring from the heart is built on our values of respect and empathy. We've had to narrow it down to just a few!

✨ Jemma shared smiles across the community by handing out roses as a 'random act of kindness.'

✨ At Tall Trees, Rhiannon and Paul created beautiful gift bags for new mums at the Chipping Norton maternity ward, made with donations from local businesses.

✨ Rendlesham residents and team members donated treats to the RSPCA to support the training and care of cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes.

✨ Kelly dedicated her time volunteering at her local community centre, helping bring people together.

✨ Residents at the Oaken Holt Estate crafted heartfelt thank you cards for the visiting paramedics, showing gratitude to those who are always there in times of need.

✨ Zoe and the team at Ivy Court donated to The Dixons Centre — a Norwich charity supporting vulnerable people and running a food bank for anyone in need.

✨ And at Mill House, our team hosted a “Bubbles & Brunch” for local health and social care heroes.

It's kindness that connects us all, with each other and with our wider communities.

Belmont House

Following a multi-million pound development, Belmont House has been meticulously built by Caring Homes to provide a home that is entirely centred on providing a safe environment with specialist care for residents. We have created a modern care home with exceptional facilities and the highest quality finish. Practical bedrooms with en-suite facilities and carefully considered furniture arrangements suit the specific care needs of our residents. The comfortable environment with impressive decoration, belies the careful, thoughtful design. We have taken into account ease of movement and navigation, good visibility and accessibility, and introduced memory aids to promote maximum independence and confidence. Our dementia-friendly design features include strong lighting coupled with the use of colour and contrast for safety and perception, plus clear signage with icons to help wayfinding. In addition, low windowsills enable residents to admire wildlife including squirrels and birds in the gardens.

At Belmont house we have high standards and this backed up by our CQC rating which you can view here - https://www.caringhomes.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Belmont-House-Nursing-Home_2018.01.30.pdf?ppc=yes
