🕛 Seeing in the New Year with little ones doesn’t have to mean staying up till midnight… let’s be honest, half of us parents won’t make it to midnight anyway. But celebrating the fresh start with our tiny people can be full of magic.

Here are some simple ways to make New Year’s Eve feel special without the super late night.

👉🏻 Get dressed up. You might not be out-out anymore but popping on something sparkly and having a “house party” with the kids makes the evening feel exciting for everyone.

👉🏻 New Year crafting. Countdown clocks they can colour in as bedtime approaches, painted fireworks, DIY party hats… it all adds to the fun.

👉🏻 Sparkly cupcakes. Bake some simple cupcakes and let the kids loose with glittery sprinkles. Instant celebration!

👉🏻 Make a 2024 wish tree. Find a stick on a walk, paint it at home then hang everyone’s wishes for the year ahead. A jar works just as well if sticks are scarce.

👉🏻 Create a time capsule. Add drawings, photos, magazine cut outs or even favourite snack wrappers. Seal it and choose a date in the future to open it together.

👉🏻 Practise gratitude. Share one thing you’re thankful for from the past year and invite your little ones to do the same. It’s a lovely habit to nurture.

👉🏻 Countdown to bedtime
Catch a replay of last year’s fireworks or use a countdown from a different time zone so they still get the excitement before lights out.

🎉 However you’re planning to welcome the new year with your little crew, we hope it’s full of fun, happiness and lots of sleep!

✅ Christmas 2025 - done!

Happy Boxing Day to every parent and carer who successfully delivered another magical Christmas... and is now running purely on leftover stuffing and mulled wine.

👏🏼 If your living room currently looks like wrapping paper met a blender, if every toy makes a noise, or if you stepped on something sharp before 9am, congratulations... you’ve nailed it!

Today’s vibe is stretchy clothes, cold roasties straight from the fridge and pretending the mountain of new toys will somehow tidy itself.
💕 Enjoy the chaos, the cuddles and any quiet moments you can sneak in.

🎄Merry Christmas from the Daisy First Aid team.
If your house is loud, glittery, snack covered or full of tiny humans who woke you up way before sunrise... we see you!

🤰🏻Pregnant this Christmas?
We hope someone is handing you snacks on demand and giving you the comfiest seat in the house.

🧑🏼‍🍼Baby’s first Christmas?
Prepare for a million photos, crinkly wrapping paper being the main event and at least one nap that happens just when you wanted a family photo.

👧🏻 Toddler in the mix?
Good luck keeping the baubles on the tree. You’ve got this.

👦🏼 Older children bouncing off the walls with excitement?
May your festive energy be strong and your biscuits never run out.

🫶🏻 Thank you for being part of our Daisy family this year.
Wishing you a day full love, happiness and just the right amount of chaos.

⚠️ Three toys to keep an eye on this Christmas. They look fun and festive... yet for babies and toddlers they can be a little risky.

🧲 High powered magnetsThey are tiny and shiny which makes them very tempting for little ones. Swallowing more than one can cause serious internal damage so keep magnet sets well out of reach of little hands.

🔋 Toys with button batteriesThose light up books, singing decorations and novelty toys are everywhere at this time of year. If a button battery gets stuck in a child’s throat it can cause serious internal damage very quickly which is why secure battery compartments matter so much.

You’ll find them in:

👉🏻Light up books
👉🏻Musical storybooks
👉🏻Singing or flashing soft toys
👉🏻Small plastic toys that light up or make noises
👉🏻Spinning or novelty light wands
👉🏻Mini torches
👉🏻Key ring toys
👉🏻Christmas novelty toys (singing decorations, flashing ornaments)

👉🏻Christmas cracker toysCrackers often hide tiny plastic prizes that end up scattered on the floor. Many are the perfect size to choke on so a quick tidy up after pulling crackers is a simple way to keep little ones safe.

🎄 Baring these in mind will help ensure you enjoy a happy and safe Christmas.

🔴 Water beads are bright and colourful, have a lovely squishy feel to them, which makes them very appealing to small children.

🟣 When they’re dry they are tiny so can easily be swallowed by a child without anyone realising.

⚠️ Once they’re absorbed by stomach fluids, they can expand to up to 400 times their original size which poses a serious risk of blocking a child’s bowel.

⚠️ If a water bead gets stuck in a child’s bowel they will need an operation to remove it. The beads don’t show on an x-ray so they can be very difficult to locate. A child could end up requiring major surgery.

🔵 They should be kept away from children under 5 years old but they aren’t sold with safety warnings so if someone buys them for your child this year please don’t allow them to play with them – it’s not worth the risk.

🙏🏼 Or better yet – share this post to inform others of the dangers.
