🎨 Play Therapy Services 🎨

We have some availability for our individual play therapy sessions.

Play therapy offers children a safe, creative space to explore and understand their thoughts and feelings. This means play therapy can help children who may need support with low self esteem/confidence, friendship difficulties, reluctance to attend school, loss, and bullying to name a few.

Our individual play therapy sessions offer weekly 1:1 sessions between a child and our PTUK trained therapist. The relationship with the therapist provides a safe framework for exploration and self-understanding. Children can explore their feelings through creative mediums such as art, sand, role play, puppets and music.

If this sounds like something that can support a child you know, please contact us for more information.

The importance of clay in play therapy. PTUK have outlined the benefits of having clay in the toolkit and how it supports children with their emotions.

Clay is one of the tools used in play therapy to help children express their feelings, relax, and show experiences they may find hard to put into words. Playing with clay lets children feel calm and focused, and what they make can give therapists clues about their thoughts and emotions.

For example:
πŸ¦• Showing Feelings: children can make shapes or figures that reflect how they feel.
πŸ¦• Boosting Confidence: completing a creation can make a child feel proud.
πŸ¦• Working Through Experiences: playing with clay helps children deal with tricky emotions safely.
πŸ¦• Improving Focus & Skills: handling clay can strengthen concentration and fine motor skills.

πŸ’‘ Tip for parents or educators: give children some clay and a simple prompt like β€œMake something that shows how you feel today.” Let them lead – sometimes their creation tells the story better than words.

How does play therapy support children's wellbeing?

Children might need additional support for various reasons. Play therapy offers children a safe, creative space to explore and understand their thoughts and feelings. This means play therapy can help children who may need support with low self esteem/confidence, friendship difficulties, reluctance to attend school, loss, and bullying to name a few.

At Panacea Play Therapy we offer individual or group play therapy sessions to support children.

🎨 Individual Play Therapy offers weekly 1:1 sessions between a child and therapist. The relationship with the therapist provides a safe framework for exploration and self-understanding. Children can explore their feelings through creative mediums such as art, sand, role play, puppets and music.
🎨 Group Play Therapy offers children the opportunity to explore and share experiences in a supportive group setting, addressing challenges such as loss, bullying, low self-esteem, or difficulties forming friendships.

If this sounds like something that can support a child you know, please contact us for more information.

Drawing and painting is just one of the mediums offered to clients in play therapy. This post outlines a why it is in our play therapy toolkit.

Express, Explore, Heal: Drawing & Painting in Play Therapy 🎨

Did you know that drawing and painting are not just fun activities – they can actually help children process complex emotions? In play therapy, art provides a safe space for children to explore feelings like fear, sadness, or joy that they might struggle to express in words.

✨ Benefits of Art in Play Therapy:
β€’ Helps children communicate emotions safely
β€’ Encourages self-expression and creativity
β€’ Supports emotional regulation and coping skills
β€’ Builds confidence and self-awareness
β€’ Can reveal underlying thoughts or concerns that adults might not notice

Through their creations, children tell stories, work through challenges, and learn to make sense of their experiences. Every brushstroke and sketch becomes a window into their inner world.

🌈 Art in play therapy is more than colouring – it’s a pathway to understanding, growth, and healing.
