THE LAST ONE BEFORE SANTA ARRIVES!!

Sandfields 2-0 galaxy- tough game against a strong sandfields team, our team battled hard and a special mention to Tillie in goals who made some fantastic saves but unfortunately we were undone by 2 great strikes by sandfields

Llangenech 0-0 Galaxy- another solid performance defensively from us, chances from both team but both keepers we outstanding, another special mention to our keeper for this game Rosie J, she pulled of some fantastic saves and kept us in the game

Johnstown 0-0 Galaxy- johnstown were definitely the strongest opposition today and we really dug in to keep the opposition at bay with some fantastic defending yet again, Molly pulled off the goalkeeper performance of the day, blocking everything that was sent her way!!

Mumbles 0-0 Galaxy- another great game and one we definitely had chances in to win and we're super unlucky, another solid performance in goal this time by Gwen

Player of the week: Rosie Ellery- Rosie worked her socks off today, defended outstandingly and was very unlucky to not get on the score sheet this week.

Super proud of you all so far this season team and if we don't see you in training Wednesday, have a wonderful Christmas you all thoroughly deserve it!!

💜 Sunday Results | Competitive Fixtures ⚽
📅 14th December

Another busy Sunday for Gower Galaxy with some fantastic performances on the road.

Excellent performances by both our U12 and U15 teams, both claiming well deserved victories against tough opposition. Extra congratulations to Gwynnie Scanlon who bagged a hat-trick for the 12s! ⚽⚽⚽

Despite a heavy loss, The Rockets showed plenty of grit and played some nice football with plenty of positives to build upon. 💪🏻

Well done to all players, coaches and supporters representing the club 👏
Onwards and upwards, Galaxy 💫

Today our U15/U16 girls travelled to Clydach to play in the West Wales Women & Girls League.

With a bare 11 players today due to injuries and girls away, the girls knew they had to dig in deep from the start.

From the off, the girls dominated the first half and within the first 10 Maisie opened the scoring.

The girls went into the second half just as strong, but Clydach created their chances with a few break away opportunities, however a great save by Alice, as well as being defensively strong.

Maisie got her 2nd goal of the game and shortly after Lexi got our 3rd, to finish the game 3-0.

Credit to Clydach who continued to press the Galaxy Girls throughout the match.

Best of luck to CPD Clydach Football Club for the rest of the season and we look forward to the return fixture.

Our u12s were back in action this morning away at Bryn Rovers in a league fixture and what a game it was 💜

Galaxy were up for it from the first whistle raring to go with attacking movement down the wing, fantastic vision to find key passes to their team mates, great sprinting to chase every ball down and dribbling through the middle, and with 9 minutes on the clock fired a corner into the box was met by Annabelle with a swift strike to score her first goal for the club. We remanied disciplined and creating opportunities, Bryn continued to be a threat and a slip in concentration with the ball through the middle saw them equalise. We remained vigilant defensively after that with key communication from both defence and goalkeeper to make good clearances under pressure from the edge of the area. Playing out from the back where possible, creating play in the final third with near misses and deflections to provide more dangerous corners and a couple more quality passes from Kaitlin and strikes from Evie and Annabelle to make it 1-3 to Galaxy at half time.

With no subs we made a few positional changes across the pitch, and our forward play continued in the second half with quality passes and determination to get the ball... several dangerous throw ins and corners by Seren and within a few minutes Gwynnie scored two in quick succession to make it 1-5. Defensively solid and strong by Nieve, Florence and Ella with brilliant clearances, tracking and holding off play to then create play from higher up the pitch thus creating more attacking play and shots on goal with Seren finding the back of the net twice with two great strikes, a tap in from a neat cross for Gwynnie to claim her hattrick and then Jess scoring from our own half with a looping shot that dipped just under the bar to make it 1-9. With 10 minutes left, the girls were playing out of their skin, a solo run from the half way line saw Gwynnie take on the last defender cut inside with a superb strike to get her fourth of the day and with the last kick of the game a drilled corner from Jess saw Annabelle control and finish to claim her hattrick also.

The girls were absolutely amazing today, very proud coaches for their attitude, effort and determination 👏💜

Our last game before Christmas was a fantastic way to head into the festive break! The U7s travelled to Cwrt Herbert on a cold but dry morning, ready to take on four strong sides: Rhos, Mumbles, Sandfields and Bryncoch ⚽️

Galaxy controlled much of the opening game against Rhos but had to settle for a hard-fought 0–0 draw. A tight and competitive match against Mumbles followed, with the girls narrowly losing 2–1 after a strong team performance. They then showed great resilience against a tough Sandfields side despite a 4–2 defeat. The morning finished on a high with an impressive and confident 4–0 victory against Bryncoch.

✨Reeva, Evelyn, Clara and Rosie ✨were all excellent throughout the morning. With no substitutes available and no breaks, they showed incredible determination, cracked on and played exceptionally well in every game.

🏆Player of the Week
This week’s Player of the Week goes to Rosie Jones for her solid defensive work, relentless effort and never-give-up mentality. Rosie also chipped in with a couple of well-taken goals, rounding off an all-round excellent performance. Well done!

It’s an absolute pleasure to coach such a fantastic group of friends. Well done girls — super proud of every single one of you! 👏⚽💜

We now look forward to our final training session, with a little twist, on Wednesday before Christmas! 🎄 🎅

⚽️💜🏆 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK!🏆💜⚽️

This week we have two very deserving Players of the Week from our U11s, Abi and Emily! 👏👏

Both players were outstanding in midfield, working tirelessly from the first whistle to the last. Their energy, commitment, and willingness to put in the hard yards for the team really stood out, and they played a huge role in driving the team forward throughout our games. 💪⚽

Abi and Emily created numerous opportunities with their sharp, well-timed passing, showing real composure on the ball and great awareness of their teammates around them. Their communication continues to improve week on week, and today was another clear step forward, with both players talking, organising, and supporting those around them brilliantly. 🗣️🌟

They were both rewarded for their efforts by getting on the scoresheet, with Emily also adding a well-earned assist, highlighting the impact they had at both ends of the pitch. ⚽🙌

What makes this even more special is the consistency both players have shown. Their performances throughout the first half of the season have been strong, reliable, and full of effort, and today was a perfect reflection of the progress they continue to make. Their attitude, teamwork, and desire to keep improving really embody the Gower Galaxy spirit. 💜

Abi and Emily should be extremely proud, not just of today’s performances, but of the standard they set every week for themselves and their teammates.

Well done, girls! Keep working hard, keep communicating, and keep enjoying your football! 💜⚽

Sunshine, smiles and football ☀️⚽️. This week our U11s were on the road at Ysgol Penrhos, playing against Rockspur Bluebells, Pontardawe and CPD Clydach Football Club. Across all three games, the girls showed fantastic effort, growing confidence on the ball and great teamwork throughout the day. 💜⚽️

There was lots of positive football on show, with some lovely passing, great defending and plenty of moments to be proud of.

Galaxy 3 – 0 Rockspur

The girls started the day really well, coming out full of energy and focus. There was some excellent passing and movement throughout the game, which helped us create plenty of chances.

The goals came from some well-worked play, with Abi scoring twice and Emily adding another with a composed finish. Defensively, the team were solid and worked hard for each other, with Mya doing a great job in goal and keeping a well-deserved clean sheet.

Galaxy 0 – 1 Pontardawe

Game two was a really good game with chances at both ends. The girls showed strong tackling, great effort and continued improvement with their passing and movement, which has really stepped up over recent weeks.

Mya was called into action more in this game and showed fantastic bravery, making an excellent save and taking the ball to her face. We were unlucky not to score after hitting the post shortly afterwards.

Galaxy 1 – 1 Clydach

The final game was another end-to-end match. After going a goal behind, the girls kept battling, stayed positive and continued to play the right way. Their hard work paid off when Abi scored to bring us level.

We created more chances and pushed right to the final whistle, but some good saves from the opposition meant the game finished all square.

A really positive day for the girls. Their confidence is growing week on week, and their commitment, teamwork and attitude were excellent to see throughout the morning. They should all be very proud of themselves.
