Imagine a space where children and their families can come and stay with us to learn about permaculture and growing your own, where they can experience therapies like yoga and sound therapy, where they can access workshops and classes on great creased newt and bats conservation, cook plant-based recipes, enjoy playing in our wooden play area or berry labyrinth, or enjoy a bonfire jam. We will run workshops that seek to educate and heal, including gardening, days out foraging, vegan nutrition, creating bat houses and bird boxes, looking after our sheep and pets, and accessing the many therapies and events that we are planning to run with other therapists in our community. We want to create a magical healing space that will inspire people to visit to the beautiful Gower peninsula regularly and galvanise a new sense of community support. Every year we will also run Eco-Fest - a festival that we have previously run 3 years ago with therapies and workshops as well as vegan food and opportunities to get involved with practical tasks to improve the land - an open invite to all... So please come along and be part of the magic that your donations helped to make happen! What we'll deliver:
• Transform an unused piece of land into an healing and educational space for fostered and disadvantaged children and their families
• Create a communal allotment, orchard and berry maze to share the delights of growing
• Deliver a launch event followed by a programme full of nature-based activities and therapies
• Create a wooden play area for children
• Erect a composting toilet and shelter buildings from scratch with wood, straw-bale and cob building techniques
• Host a yearly Eco-Fest, seasonal celebrations monthly fire gatherings, and open days for our local communities.
• Provide a space to repopulate the Gower's diverse landscape and wildlife
• Encourage collaborations with local organisations, schools and other
therapists
