I support Parkinson's UK

I support Parkinson's UK Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition with no cure. This condition is debilitating for those who suffer with this. Thank you for reading, Tracey

They need time to talk, walk and much more My page is about passing to the general public about how this neurological disease called Parkinson's is becoming more and more popular. I use website's like Parkinson's UK and various other sites from around the world, I follow people like Michael J Fox, Billy Connolly and the local Parkinson's branch that Mum was with in Swansea. My mother was diagnosed 14 years ago and she passed away in October 2020 due to Parkinson's which exacerbated other health conditions. As her carer, to watch her loose her bounce was quite hard to watch but too be there for her when she needed help. She stopped driving 3 years ago, became very unsteady on her feet, her medication was always changing after a period as the medication effect was not as good as before. Freezing periods and falling with not being able to get up herself. Whilst she was in Rest bite she became unwell and was sent to A & E with a UTI and Pneumonia in March where she spent 2 months in hospital. Following a couple of other periods she had further infections and watching her health decrease. With not being able to visit mum during lockdowns it was hard to come to terms with not being with her. On the 3rd October she passed away from Pneumonia, Parkinson's, Congestive heart failure and Hypertension. I was with her when she passed away which was comforting to know that mum was not alone and it was not Covid that took her. This is a horrible disease and a cure needs to be found to give those a fighting chance of being who they used to be. There are many types of treatments out there and they are not always suited for everyone. I like to post information regarding Parkinson's in the hope that peoples awareness of this disease is raised. Not only for those who are suffering but also those who are carer's. Please if you have read this brief information page about my mum and know of anyone who has Parkinson's pass this on to them. Parkinson's UK is the main organisation that I follow, I am like the middle person to shout out about it.

Parkinson’s may not recognise it’s Christmas,
May not take a holiday!
So we just need to work around it
And not let it spoil our day!
We can crack jokes with a straight face,
We can sift flour for festive bakes,
We can be the card game shufflers,
Who cares how long it takes!
We can ‘shake’ the cocktail makers,
We can enjoy a good stiff drink!
We can jingle bells on Santa’s sleigh
We can be ‘Bambi’ on the rink!
So let’s put on those Christmas jumpers,
Pour those glasses of Christmas Cheer
And raise a toast to all our Pals.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
