Porthcawl Tri Club Awards Night - everyone deserved an award as they've all done amazing this year. Bring on 2026! Looking forward to some new initiatives for the club 🧡 Also for my business which is only 4 mths old; the new Swansea clinic is quickly growing + there will be another clinic in the New Year. Ferndale Clinic itself (Podiatry services) I'm afraid will close on 17th December. Happy to do home visits (please enquire to book), you've been like family to me, thank you so much.

- Note on Plantar Fasciitis -

Traditionally known as 'fasciitis' - ('itis' as the condition was believed to be related to inflammation).

However, the condition is characterised by an absence of inflammatory cells, hence it is considered degenerative, not inflammatory.

“Fasciosis” or “fasciopathy” should ideally be used to refer to this condition instead.

Plantar heel pain is the most commonly seen foot pain condition treated by health care workers.

Podiatrists study this condition for 3 years during their degree as it is so commonly presented during their studies/clinical training, although sometimes you need to think outside the box.

Hi everyone! 👋 I'm thrilled to share that I’ll be offering podiatry services in Ferndale, starting 18th August, and I’d love your support as I begin this next chapter in my career!

After completing my first long-distance triathlon (Ironman Wales in 2017), I became fascinated with biomechanics and the role of foot health in overall movement.

Since graduating, I've been refining my skills in a range of services whilst studying an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science specialising in Biomechanics. I offer a full foot health assessment, gait analysis, nail cutting, callus removal, verruca treatment & nail surgery, along with strength & rehabilitation plans for the lower limb.

As an avid triathlete, I'm passionate about helping runners, multi-sport athletes, and anyone dealing with lower limb niggles or foot pain. I'll combine sports-focused biomechanics with a personalised, empathic approach in my practice.

If you or anyone you know in Ferndale or nearby is looking to improve their foot health, walk or run pain-free, or explore orthotic solutions - send them my way!

Appointments will be open from 18 August. I can’t wait to support everyone in staying active and comfortable.
