As we age, losses in muscle mass and strength can make us feel weak, frail and lacking in energy. The best way to reverse this is through progressive strength training.

This is Vera, my 84 year old client proving that age is just a number and it’s never too late to get stronger.

Before Vera returned to training, she was feeling weak, frail and lacking in confidence doing daily activities/tasks. Fast forward a few months and she’s feeling so much stronger, both physically and mentally and is having a much easier time doing daily activities/tasks.

Benefits from strength training(To name a few):
•An increase in muscle mass(preventing sarcopenia).
•increased bone density(preventing osteoporosis).
•Resilient joints.
•Functional strength that makes daily tasks easier.
•Increased confidence and self esteem.
•Better hormonal profile

Here are the exercises we are currently using to build full body strength and muscle mass, give them a try( focusing on getting stronger each session) and see how much better you feel within a few weeks.

Exercises:
•Kettlebell deadlift-3 sets.
•Barbell bench press-3 sets.
•Dumbbell One handed row-3 sets.
•Dumbbell box squat-3 sets.

Big well done to my client Sophie Gregory on fantastic progress over the last 6 months. She’s lost 23lb(1st 9lbs) on the scales, 2 clothes sizes and her strength and fitness levels have increased massively since she started. She’s been super consistent with her training(2x per week) and hasn’t missed a single session in 6 months. She’s also nailed her daily step goal of 10,000 without fail and she’s followed a sensible eating approach by trying to limit processed food in her diet while focusing on whole foods.
