This Easter weekend, we have to talk about eggs! 🐰πŸ₯š

Not the chocolate ones the Easter Bunny will deliver on Sunday (though I cannot wait for those!), but the precious eggs in your ovaries.

As we age, our egg reserve naturally declines. But here’s the good news: while we can’t change QUANTITY, we absolutely CAN support QUALITY πŸ’–

What helps egg quality:
πŸ₯— Antioxidant-rich foods (berries, leafy greens, colorful veg)
🌱 Key nutrients: CoQ10, folate, omega-3s, vitamin C& D
😴 Quality sleep - all our cells including eggs cells repair while we sleep
πŸ’§ Staying hydrated
πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Stress management (hello reflexology!)
🚭 Avoiding smoking, alcohol and toxic substances
πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Gentle, regular exercise

The 90 days before ovulation is when your eggs are maturing - this is your window to support them.

Whether you’re 25 or 45, supporting egg health matters. Small changes, consistently applied, make a real difference.

Wishing you a happy and hopeful Easter πŸ£πŸ’–

Clinic on a Saturday… means supporting assisted fertility cycles πŸ’–

Weekends are reserved for clients going through an assisted cycle where timing is everything and that timing is ruled by their Fertility Clinic.

If you are preparing for an assisted cycle and want reflexology to support you then I can be there when the timing is right for YOU.

I have limited space for treatments over the next 2 weeks but can still accommodate Fertility Consultations ready to start treatments from 16th April.

Hope you are having a great weekend πŸ’–

Today let’s talk about male fertility, because it’s just as important as female fertility.

With roughly 35% of fertility issues relating to male factors, 35% female factors and the remaining 30% made up of a combined male/female factors or unexplained it’s surprising that men’s reproductive health often gets overlooked while women are fully investigated usually from the start.

So with men in mind, here are some simple suggestions to support male reproductive health:

🌱 Focus on good nutrition – what you eat matters! Eliminate processed foods and replace them with high quality whole foods / homecooked meals including lots of nuts and seeds.

🌱 Take a good quality well researched preconception supplement. Lifestyle can have a big impact and deplete the body’s resources.

🌱 Get a good nights rest - sleep quality is important for normal hormonal function.

🌱 Regular exercise (but not excessive) - staying active supports the body and its functions, where heavy strenuous or endurance training can negatively impact male fertility.

🌱 Reduce heat exposure - laptops on laps, hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, tight underwear can all affect s***m quality

🌱 Manage stress - find YOUR way to relax that also supports your fertility.

🌱 Reduce / avoid caffeine - caffeine can impact of s***m motility so switch to decaf and ditch the fizzy drinks.

🌱 Reduce your exposure to toxins – limit alcohol and quit smoking, both are highly toxic and will effect s***m quality.

And yes, reflexology supports male fertility too! It helps reduce stress, supports normal function of the hormones, and promotes better sleep.

I work with couples and BOTH partners are able to come in for treatments or maybe just the male or female partner comes in, and honestly, it makes such a difference. Not just physically, but emotionally too.

Men, you are in this too and there is support for you if you need it.

Welcome to the first Friday Focus! πŸ’• πŸ‘£πŸ’–

Today’s tip: Start tracking your basal body temperature (BBT) πŸ“ˆ

If you have ever been one of my fertility clients then you will know how much I love a BBT chart 😍

Here’s why these charts are so valuable…

Your BBT reveals a LOT about your cycle; when you ovulate (especially important with PCOS), the quality and importantly the length of your luteal phase, what patterns you have within your cycle and what might need support. It’s like having a window into what your body is doing each month..

What you need:
🌼 A basal thermometer (gets more decimal places than regular thermometers – cheap and easy to buy from most chemists)
🌼 An app or paper chart to record daily temperatures (I recommend Fertility Friend to my clients)
🌼 Commitment to taking your temp first thing every morning before getting out of bed… immediately on waking, before speaking, sitting up, or moving… just open your eyes, get the thermometer and take your temp.

After a couple of cycles, you’ll start seeing patterns. And if you’re working with me on your fertility journey, these charts give us incredible insight into how to support you with reflexology.

Want help understanding your charts or your bigger fertility picture? That’s exactly what we dive into during fertility consultations!

Have a great weekend all!

With love,

Sarah x
