We had a truly lovely Christmas Day here at quarry mount, filled with joy, laughter, and festive cheer 🎄✨
We enjoyed a delicious traditional roast dinner complete with crackers, and telling jokes followed by a special delivery of presents from 'Mrs Santa' 🎁. The day was made even more special as we shared wonderful conversations and memories of Christmases past, bringing smiles and warm moments all around. A beautiful day spent together celebrating what really matters 💖 being together.

✨ Warm & homely (for families):
We were delighted to welcome Christchurch today. Our residents joined in with singing songs, listening to stories, and decorating boxes which we filled with fresh fruits for the harvest. It was such a lovely way to celebrate together 🌾🍎

🌿 Today our residents took part in NAPA’s ! 🌿

NAPA (National Activity Providers Association) is the charity that supports care homes across the UK to deliver meaningful activities.

Each year they host Arts in Care Homes Day, and this year’s theme is green and sustainable. 💚

Our residents got creative by making leaf bowls and designing trees with leaves – a wonderful way to celebrate nature, sustainability, and the joy of art together. 🍃🌳

We couldn’t be prouder of this achievement — being a finalist is already such an honour. Please join us in wishing Julia the very best of luck for awards night! ✨

✨ On learning of her nomination Julia said … “I was over the moon to receive the wonderful news that I’ve been selected as a finalist in the British Care Awards! ✨ We had a lovely visit from Trees Nursery this week! ✨

The children and residents enjoyed a wonderful activity called story stones – they coloured a selection of images which were placed into a bag, then used them to make up imaginative stories. Our residents joined in too, colouring their own stones and adding ideas to the stories, which created lots of smiles and laughter.

Alongside this, our residents also enjoyed trying out our fidget toys and strengthening bands/squeezy eggs for hands, which are great for both fun and gentle exercise.

It was a joyful session full of creativity, connection and play across generations 🌟💛

💖 Today we celebrate a truly special milestone at Quarry Mount – one of our wonderful couples Lionel and Mary who have been married for an incredible 64 years! 🥂 Their love, laughter and devotion to one another still shines as brightly today as it did all those years ago. What a beautiful inspiration to us all – a lifetime of love shared together. 💕

Our wonderful Activities Coordinator, Julia, has been leading a multi-home collaborative artwork called Arts in Care Homes Swindon 🎨.

The project shines a light on the amazing creativity in our homes and the joy it brings to people living with dementia.

Today, we were delighted to welcome BBC Wiltshire, who joined us to record as we completed our four tiles for the 72-tile masterpiece!

Our residents loved a wonderful visit from Butterfly World 🦋. They enjoyed meeting a pygmy goat, snake, bearded dragon, guinea pig, and rabbit — bringing lots of smiles, laughter, and special memories 💛

🎶 What a wonderful afternoon at Quarry Mount! Our lovely residents were treated to the incredible talents of Bob Charles, who filled the room with music, laughter and smiles. And to make it even more special, Elvis made an appearance too, bringing back all those good old favourites our residents adore! 💃🕺

Our residents at Quarry Mount had a wonderful time this week creating lots of smiles and feeling good 🎉

💛 They not only enjoyed a lively game of bingo – always a favourite!
🙏 They were also blessed with a lovely visit from the church. The ladies read inspiring stories, sang beautiful hymns, and even helped our residents decorate coasters 🎨✨

It was a heartwarming time of fun, faith, and friendship 💕

🌟 Today at Quarry Mount, we had a wonderful time watching Nora, one of our residents enjoy some chair dancing to lively traditional Irish music! 🎶💃 The joy on her face was contagious, making it a truly special moment for everyone. Keeping the spirit of Irish dance alive!
