Do Small Meals Boost Your Metabolism?

A client asked me this week, ‘Do small meals actually help boost your metabolism?’

Let’s break it down with some simple science.

Eating smaller, balanced meals throughout the day can wake up your metabolism because every time you eat, your body uses energy to digest.

This is called the Thermic Effect of Food, basically, you use energy just by breaking down your food.

But here’s the key:
It only works if your portion sizes and meal quality are right.

Good protein, good fibre, good nutrients, not just grazing all day.

Protein especially gives your metabolism a little push because it takes more energy to digest.

So when you spread your meals out properly, you keep energy stable, control hunger, and support fat loss without crashing.

Remember, it’s not about eating constantly, it’s about eating smart, eating balanced, and fuelling your body the right way.

Understand your body… and you can shape it however you want.
