Welcome to Wicked’s Rehab Diary🐾

As a vet physio, I don’t rehab my own dog any differently than my clients’ — careful assessment, realistic goals, and a lot of patience.

This injury was an accident from chasing squirrels in the woods🐿️resulting in a mild sprain and unfortunately means stepping away from agility for a short while, but the goal is a safe, confident return to work when the body is truly ready.

Injuries can be scary and upsetting, so I thought I’d share our rehab journey week by week — the progress, the challenges, and what really goes into getting a dog back to sport after injury.

👉 Follow along if you’re rehabbing a dog, competing in sports, or just curious about how physio helps to return to sports safely🏋🏼‍♀️

What can veterinary physiotherapy help with?

Physio isn’t just for injured dogs, it can help with:

🐾 Recurring injuries or movement changes
🐾 Sporting & working dog performance
🐾 Post-operative recovery
🐾 Arthritis & age related stiffness

And more…

Whether your dog is an agility star or a world class sofa surfer, good movement matters☺️

Not sure if physio is right for you and your dog? Pop me a message and I’ll be happy to answer any questions🐾

🎆 Top Tips for Keeping Your Dog Calm This Firework Night 🎆

Fireworks might be fun for us — but they can be frightening for our dogs. Here are some simple ways to help them feel safe and settled tonight 💛🐾

🐶 Create a cosy den – Set up a comfy space with their favourite blanket or bed where they can hide and feel secure.

🔊 Drown out the noise – Close windows, curtains and pop on the TV, radio or some calming music.

🦴 Keep them busy – Long-lasting chews, treat puzzles or lick mats can help distract anxious minds.

💡 Stay calm yourself – Dogs pick up on our energy. Stay relaxed and act normal so they know everything’s okay.

🚶‍♀️ Walk early – Get your walk in before dark to avoid sudden bangs.

💬 ID tags & microchips – Just in case, make sure your dog’s details are up to date.

✨ A little preparation goes a long way in keeping our dogs happy and safe this Bonfire Night.

Keeping canine athletes strong, focused, and injury-freeJust like human athletes, sporting dogs need more than just training and playtime to stay at the top of their game — they need intentional rest and recovery. Recovery isn’t simply “taking a break”; it’s the process of repairing, recha...

Little Millie has had an upgrade to the full Princess Treatment here at Pace Therapy👑🩷

Millie loves having a little cushion, so her owner has bought her one for in the clinic (and even matched Pace Therapy colour scheme😅💚)

That alongside PEMF treatment and her heat mat, she was ready to relax before having targeted massage and doing some passive range of motion exercises💪🏼

So much has been going on behind the scenes here at Pace Therapy after a busy busy summer!

We are now heading into post-season for the agility world in the UK - the perfect time to get that post-season check over before we head into winter💪🏼

Due to a lovely hot summer, the grounds this year have been hard, creating greater impact on our dogs, getting them checked and treated by a physio is the best way to keep them performing at their best🫶🏼

Message me to get booked in for in clinic or organise a mobile day🤍
