Yeah, right - bit tricky if you're suffering a major breakout! Sadly adult acne is a growing problem, worsened by mask wearing and leading to "maskne"
This month marks a significant anniversary for me as a few years back I had the foresight to join the Dermalogica Tribe & I've never looked back 👌
My skin journey started then and as a fellow sufferer (before) - I can really understand the misery this causes
Now I live vicariously through the pleasure of seeing skin successes of clients - as they regain control & confidence
A tweak, some pro tips and seasonal adjustments, as needed, allow them to enjoy the ritual & results - of living in their healthiest skin 👍
Your skin is a living, breathing organ - in fact your largest excretory organ
Some helpful tips -
♡ Do not pick (see pic of me, bare, freshly cleansed - you can't fail to see Pigmentation on cheek decades ago from doing this!)
♡ If you squeeze, know that you're pushing bacteria below & spreading!
♡ Dead skin cells build up and clog so regularly and gently exfoliating is key (daily microfoliant or superfoliant with absorbent charcoal really FAB)
♡ Don't use harsh products that over dry or thin - skin will detect this and produce more oil exacerbating the problem
♡ The "less rule" helps soothe inflammation so LESS products, lower temp, fewer processes > keep it simple
♡ Sebum in acne is often thicker (like butter instead of oil) so actives like niacinamide and salicylic acid help
♡ Of course stress, adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalance and lifestyle (diet, sleep, water) are key - so a holistic approach works best 😉
Taking care of your skin is so much more important than covering it up!
So enjoy the self care, reap the rewards & be kind to yourself
