Winter sun might feel gentle… but it can be surprisingly harmful to your eyes. ❄️☀️👀

Even on cold, cloudy days, UV levels can still be high — and in winter, the sun sits lower in the sky, shining directly into your eyes for longer. Add reflections from snow, ice, wet roads or light-coloured buildings, and your eyes can be exposed to more UV than you think.

Did you know humans can see more shades of green than any other colour?

It’s true — and there’s a fascinating reason why!

Our eyes contain three types of colour-sensitive cells called cones. The cone responsible for detecting green sits right in the middle of our visible spectrum, making it super sensitive.
Because of this, we can distinguish hundreds of subtle green tones far more easily than shades of red or blue.

Why does this matter?
Evolution! 🌿
Early humans relied on spotting slight differences in green when navigating forests, identifying plants, and staying safe in natural environments. So our eyes became incredibly sharp at picking up green details.
