🌺Today we remember. 🌺

On this Armistice Day, we pause to honour the bravery and sacrifice of all those who have served and continue to serve.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
— Laurence Binyon, “For the Fallen”

Thank you to Tom Doyle for beautifully playing The Last Post as we came together in remembrance.

Thank you also to Delia for baking a beautiful poppy decorated cake.

To those you gave their today for our tomorrow, we will remember them.

🌺 Remembrance Sunday 2025 🌺

Today, we pause to remember and honour the brave men and women who served and those who gave their lives for the freedoms we cherish.

“Those to gave their today, for our tomorrow”

At Mountbatten Nursing Home, our residents, staff and visitors will gather in quiet reflection at 11:00 to mark this important day. Together, we’ll share stories, observe a two-minute silence, and wear our poppies with pride in tribute to all who have served across generations.

Their courage and sacrifice remind us of the enduring strength of community, compassion, and peace.

“At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.” 🌺

🌺 November, November, a month to remember

As Remembrance Sunday approaches, we take this time to honour all those who served and those who never came home.

Many of our residents hold precious memories of loved ones who bravely stood for peace and freedom. Today, we remember them all, with love and gratitude.

We will wear our poppies with pride and gratitude. 🌺

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

A huge thank you to everyone (Residents, Families, Friends and Staff) that came along last Friday for our coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

It was so lovely to see so many people come together to socialise and enjoy a brew and some delicious cakes with the goal to raise vital funds for a wonderful charity.

Thank you to Alice for coordinating the event, a lot of hard work went into the preparations. Also a huge thank you to everyone who made cakes and donated raffle prizes.

We are delighted to announce that the coffee morning raised £507.72, we think you'll agree that this is a fantastic result and will help a little to support those living with Cancer.

Today we came together to mark VJ Day 80, the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day, which brought the Second World War to its final close.

Residents and staff paused together for a two-minute silence, reflecting on the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who served, and remembering the many lives forever changed.

Stories were shared, memories honoured, and gratitude expressed to all who played their part in securing peace.

We will remember them. ❤️🌺
