Does this look COMPLICATED to you?

For many healthcare professionals and families supporting someone with complex needs, this is a critical emergency skill. It’s called manual ventilation using an ambu bag, and it’s used when someone needs immediate breathing support.

It’s used in emergency situations, during respiratory compromise, and when someone cannot breathe effectively on their own and yes, that can include babies and children. Providing this level of care means understanding the equipment, closely monitoring breathing, and knowing exactly how to respond when things change.

This isn’t something you learn through an online course. It’s hands on, practical, and very real. Care doesn’t become simpler just because it happens at home.

That’s why at Komplex Health, our accredited, nurse-led training gives families, carers, and PAs the confidence and skills to deliver this level of care safely at home.

Did you know?

If you, your child, or a loved one has a complex condition, training like this can often be funded through a Personal Health Budget (PHB), allowing support to be tailored around real, everyday needs.

NOBODY should have to fight for the care they need!!!

Today is Time to Talk Day, a day that encourages open conversations about mental health and reminds us that speaking up can change lives. Those conversations matter. But honesty matters too.

The conversation in the media right now is centred around rising living costs, tightening budgets, healthcare cuts and increasing pressure across health and social care to “do more with less.”

We see the real-world impact of this every day, and we are ready to talk about it.

For providers like us, care is commissioned, and the number of stories we are hearing about the impact of recent funding changes is genuinely upsetting. Decisions made under significant financial and system-wide pressures can have very real consequences for people and their mental wellbeing.

We recognise the challenges commissioners face in balancing demand, resources and outcomes across an overstretched system.

And behind every commissioning decision, every reduced hour of support, every funding review and every move between providers, there is a person whose routine changes, whose confidence is tested and whose wellbeing can either grow - or be pushed backwards.

Care is not a luxury.
It is not optional.
It is essential.

That is why, in our upcoming podcast, we are talking openly about commissioning and the realities of what can happen when support is reduced or when individuals are moved between providers without stability or their voice being fully heard, with the intention of learning, improving and strengthening outcomes across the system.

And then there’s this moment.

A person we support.
The right support.
The right team around them.
Consistency. Familiar faces.

A life that feels like theirs, not something shaped purely by financial constraints.

This isn’t staged.
This is real.
This is what happens when support is done properly.

On Time to Talk Day, our message is simple:
Conversation is powerful but action, stability and the right support are what truly changes lives.

Because when someone is secure, confident and thriving, protecting the support that makes that possible should be something we all work towards - together.

This ISN’T domiciliary care 🤦‍♂️

This is complex care, and no two days are ever the same.

Complex care means managing high levels of clinical need, often responding to emergency situations that can be life-threatening.

This isn’t about ticking off tasks. It’s about truly knowing the person, understanding their needs, and delivering hospital level care at home.

How much WATER is enough? 💧

Dehydration can creep up without you even noticing, whether you’re at work, travelling or just getting through a busy day.

According to Eatwell, most adults should aim for around 2 to 2.5 litres of water a day for maximum hydration.

Sometimes the basics are what keep us feeling our best.

CARE GOES WHERE LIFE GOES ‼️

At Komplex Community, we believe true care supports people in their everyday lives, not just around them at home. Supported living isn’t about limiting life to four walls. It’s about enabling people to get out, stay connected, and live life on their own terms.

Moments like this reflect what we do best. Going beyond task-based support to focus on independence, wellbeing, choice, and real human connection. 💛

This is care done right.

Could support look ANY BETTER? 🤩

When commissioners, families, and other stakeholders ask what Komplex Community provides, we don’t deep dive into processes or personalised support plans. Our answer is simple. Outcomes.

Outcomes that reflect real change in people’s lives, not just support delivered. In this video, Marie, our Head of Operations, talks about the drive behind everything we do and her passion for achieving the best possible outcomes for the people we support.

Marie is a true example of the leadership and values at the heart of Komplex Community, and a clear reason why families and commissioners should TRUST US to support even more people today.

Care Is NOT A CHECKLIST ‼️☑️

Delivering complex care does not need to stop at the clinical checklist. We believe it’s also measured by how someone feels. Smiles like our client Marion’s reflect carers who go beyond tasks and focus on what matters just as much connection, dignity, consistency and, most importantly, quality.

This photo shows the impact of care done right.

BLUE tops for BLUE MONDAY 💙

But this Blue Monday, we’re celebrating Mike & Michael for completing PRICE Instructor Training, making them our newly qualified PRICE Trainers.

So, what is PRICE Training?

PRICE Training equips care organisations with evidence-based approaches to managing behaviours of concern, ensuring staff are trained to maintain safety through de-escalation, calming techniques, safe physical intervention, and proactive restraint reduction.

So instead of feeling the blues on the most talked-about Monday of the year, we’re celebrating two people now leading training that helps our teams respond safely, confidently, and effectively when it matters most.

Most people PANIC when this happens 😱

Would you know what to do if someone started having a seizure?

You might not think you’d ever have to deal with a situation like this but it can happen anywhere. In a shop. On the street. At work. And when it does, you will need to act quickly.

Staying calm and responding correctly can help prevent serious injury and keep someone safe. This video shows the key steps you should take if you ever find yourself in this situation.

Because knowledge saves lives.

Knowing this could SAVE A LIFE!!! ⚠️

For people with a spinal cord injury, this could happen in an instant and many people don't even realise it! A sudden headache? Profuse sweating? Confusion?

That's Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD), and it can be extremely dangerous!

AD can escalate quickly if it isn't recognised which is why our Komplex team is trained, prepared, and ready.

Because knowledge saves lives.
