We’re pleased to share WellChild’s new free online platform, 'In Your Area', designed to support parents and carers of children with complex medical needs.

The platform helps families quickly find relevant services and support near them. It is searchable by postcode and includes helpful filters so users can find resources tailored to their specific circumstances. This is believed to be the first resource of its kind in the UK.

Children under 6 on 1st January 2026 will now be offered the MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox) vaccine as part of the NHS childhood vaccination programme.

The MMR vaccine is still available for adults and older children born on or before 31 December 2019 who were not vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella when they were younger.
