Look at those little eyes! 🥹

Teddy came by this week for his first physiotherapy session 2 weeks post
hemilaminectomy at Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service. He’s currently able to walk with assistance, our aim is to re-educate walking voluntarily and improve his neurological status. He enjoyed some massage and LASER therapy in session!

Floki has been in today for his second hydrotherapy session with us since being referred by willowsvets following spinal surgery (hemilaminectomy).

He’s bounced back incredibly well and is now walking without assistance and nearly back to his normal self. Great work Floki 👏🏻.. he’s incredibly sweet 🥹

We lose dogs all the time and it never gets easier, the dogs themselves we build a great bond with and a great friendship with their owners too.

Stepper has moved on to a place hopefully filled with endless amounts of tennis balls, ice cream, grilled fish and plenty of water to splash around in! 🌈🎾🍦💦

Thank you to his owners for allowing me to help him, despite his ailments he defied all odds and had one hell of a blast.. all helped by being in a great pair of hands 🫶🏻

We love Bob, such a handsome hound! Bob comes by for regular veterinary physiotherapy sessions to help aid his mobility and address some areas of discomfort! He’s becoming a fan of his sessions, and enjoys his massage!

This handsome boy is Norman!!

Normal underwent a hemilaminectomy 5 weeks ago at Movement Referrals: Independent Veterinary Specialists. He’s slowly able to walk again following surgery with some wobbliness, but well on the way to recovery.

LASER therapy, exercises to work on balance and co-ordination and hydrotherapy in the aquatic treadmill will all be part of his recovery plan!

Has your dog recently had a hemilaminectomy? (Spinal surgery).

If so, physiotherapy can really benefit their recovery. The aims of treatment can vary slightly but overall following strict rest protocols, adequate pain relief and gentle physiotherapy in the acute phase can really help. 🐶

This year I was asked to join the exec committee for the association which was very humbling, it’s good to see the association in a great place and long may it continue! 😃
