Gratitude fosters a deep sense of belonging and acceptance. 🙏

It strengthens social bonds

Enhances emotional intelligence

& nurtures connections

Sharing positive experiences and appreciating others brings value

Celebrating personal journeys, recognising our own challenges brings growth and self acceptance

It improves engagement and support
By grounding and connecting into the world around you

For children it makes them feel worthy, enough, they believe they matter, therefore more likely to help others…..

(these are core inner beliefs that can leave us as adults with inner child wounds if that was not fostered and nurtured during our childhoods)

So what are you thankful for this Thursday?

How can you improve your wellbeing through belonging??? 🥰

This goes for all of us not just our children

So to create a sense of belonging here are our 5 top tips:

1- create meaningful connections, invite others

2- nurture friendships & social circles

3- volunteer

4- Engage in daily acts of Kindness

5- try new hobbies/activities- yoga, book club, crafts, art group etc…..

These steps will help to reduce isolation, create a sense of purpose and get you out to meet new people- to find ‘your’ people

This is also scientifically proven to reduce anxiety and depression. Remember if you are struggling you do not need to do so alone. We are here to help support you and show you the way….. 💖

🤗. Belonging…… 🥰

This is an essential human need, for social connection, and so important for both physical and mental health

To be accepted, secure, valued as an authentic member of a group or community

To feel welcome for who you are.
Exactly as you are.
Without the need to hide or mask, no requirement to ‘fit in’

To share values and activities in an inclusive environment

Where you have a voice and are heard, held and supported so you feel safe and seen.

This is everything we encapsulate here at Caspian Wood and exactly what the children and families with SEN need so much.

We are proud to be able to offer our space for you to belong…… In order to improve your mental health and wellbeing. Whenever and forever long you need.

If you need this in your life or for your child we have spaces coming available after half term.
Drop a message so we can bring you into our community and welcome you with open arms
And of course furry kisses and hooves!

🌼 Today’s therapy pony is Daisy 🌼

Daisy has been with us for just under a year. She came for rehab. Unfortunately the environment she was in beforehand was not good for her emotionally so her owner made the hard decision to let her childhood pony find somewhere with experienced people to help her recover.

After two weeks here it was clear how much of an emotional toll her previous home had on her as she relaxed and started to breathe properly again.

It has taken gentle coaxing and slow integration for Daisy to settle here. She still likes to keep herself on the edge of the herd but Orla has taken to mothering her and checking she’s ok.

Daisy loves people. She is so affectionate.
She is now registered as one of our therapy ponies and we think she will love her job.

The children who struggle to fit in and understand social situations will gravitate to Daisy as she will understand how they feel.
Spending time grooming Daisy and being. Will help both to ground and heal.

We can’t wait to see how she works her magic with the children over this year 💖

Your Wellbeing Wednesday question is….

What do you do for Fun & to bring joy into your life?

With January being so wet and miserable and so so so long….. I think we all need a little reminder of what Joy and fun look like!
Or is it just me!!!!

I think I’ve said before that Fun is a tricky one for me. Doing what I do always brings me joy when I see the children leave with a smile but it is hard work at the moment running this place!

So this year I am scheduling in Fun into my diary. At least once a month!!!!

So January was the Strictly Come Dancing live show. Brilliant!🤩

This month we are pottery painting for Elsa’s 21st then I’m taking pip to Cheddar gorge for a few days in half term

That’s a good start but I need help!!!!
Throw some ideas and let’s inspire each other 💖

When it’s dull and dreary outside we need something to look forward to…..

This weeks Therapy Pony is our beautiful
🌹 Rose 🌹

Rose is a Connemara pony 13.2hh
She is 21yrs old
Her colour is Dun

Isn’t she a beauty? Inside & out 😍

Rose is the herd Matriarch. Quietly leading the herd and is often seen checking in with her family members to make sure they are ok

She is quietly confident. She doesn’t like to make a fuss or be part of any drama. She watches from the edge. Waiting for things to settle. But if there is a problem. She signals the alert and everyone follows her lead.

She is an amazing therapy horse as she is calm and gentle. She will help those who like to keep their thoughts and feelings shut inside, by gently grounding and calming them. Allowing them to feel relief from their burden
She makes them feel seen and safe
Without drama. Just quiet intention.
That is powerful healing ❤️‍🩹

Rose is the teenage girls who attend here favourite.

If you know someone who would like to spend some time with Rose just drop us a message

Today is International Lego Day! 🧱

Who knew these colourful bricks would capture the hearts of both children and adults alike ? ❤️

Did you know it’s been scientifically proven to help improve mental health and Wellbeing??

How?

Through mindfulness it reduces stress, improves focus and concentration. Diverting the attention away from worries

It improves dexterity and fine motor skills
Strengthening neural pathways, it increases problem solving skills through free flowing creativity

So it comes as no surprise that Lego is used in Therapy too.

It improves social skills and communication, Turn taking, sharing and collaboration

It also helps children to ask for help if they need it.

It has proven to be especially helpful to children with Autism (ASD) building confidence with social skills that they find challenging in every day life.

Therefore, helping to reduce unwanted behaviors, tantrums and avoidance. As well as reducing anxiety.

So if your children love Lego why not join them as it’s good for you too!
Or do you love it already?
Show us your models or creations we would love to see them ❤️

Do you think what we do is worth celebrating?🥳

I’ve put forward Wellbeing@caspianwood as an equine service business

Now I need you to vote if you think our service is valuable, that we need more of this type of service for children and families and if your children attend they love it here!

Who knows where this could lead?
Maybe we could secure some funding in the future?
But awareness is everything in this game

So over to you my lovely followers 😍
