Take time for Reflection…… šŸŖž

As we come to the end of another week and towards the end of the year……
take time to reflect with gratitude.

What are you thankful for?
What have you achieved?
What have you learned?

Taking time to sit with your thoughts helps to ground you and be in the moment. A good practice to learn and especially good right now.

Added bonus if you can do this in nature…..
Let the cool crisp air bring you clarity and calm ā„ļø

Looking after your wellbeing this Wednesday….our top tips

1) Be kind to yourself with the increased pressure and social events- schedule in some recovery time

2) Take time to do something that you enjoy too. Christmas isn’t just for pleasing everyone else

3) Manage expectations- both of others (remember that word No?) and yourself

4) You don’t need to worry what everyone else is doing for their Christmas. This is your celebration how you want it to be.

5) Remember that for some this time of year isn’t all jolly and joyful. Treat each other with compassion and kindness.

If you struggle with this time of year for whatever reason. We are here to support you.
You are need not feel alone šŸ¤—

Hello December! šŸŽ„

So today begins the first day of advent.
With chocolates and gifts galore!
Plus naughty elf on shelf antics to kick start the festive season.
So much fun to be had for all…..

But as it’s Monday I’m going to set your motivation to be kind to yourself too ā¤ļø

Pace yourself…… & breathe šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

I’m offering you a different kind of advent calendar today….

Your self care challenge to make sure you find something to honour your peace as we climb aboard the festive roller coaster

What will you add to each day to bring you calm amongst the busy chaos that starts today???

Overwhelmā€¦ā€¦šŸ˜šŸ¤¬šŸ˜±šŸ˜Ŗ

How does this feel for you?
Can you feel it creeping up on you or do you bury it down until you explode??🤯
This is something I discuss with children on a daily basis but what about the parents/carers?

As a busy Mum I know how much families are juggling on a daily basis. It’s a lot. Putting on a brave face and smiling is all well and good but sometimes it’s all a bit too much. I get you. I’ve been there. šŸ¤—

Why am I saying this to you right now? šŸŽ„

Well Christmas is fast approaching and along with all the jolly music and adverts galore comes with it another pressure. Just the thought of heading out to the shops right now overwhelms me! I’m not a great one for busy places at the best of time. šŸŽ

In addition your children are going to start feeling it too….. the change in timetabling, the Christmas plays, the excitement and the expectation….. all can lead to dysregulation

So firstly. Look after you! Check in on your nervous system. If you are stressing then the children can’t co-regulate from you.

Give yourself a break šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

Christmas is about Presence not Presents
Spending time together and the memories you make are worth more. Think back to what you remember of your childhood? It’s not what you had. But what you did and how you felt.

So before you get swept along in the mayhem as lovely and glittery as it is. What do you need to prevent your overwhelm or burnout?

So you can enjoy yourself too
As always I’m here if you need support
Just drop me a message

Little Oreo is settling in well
She had her first little therapy pony taster today and I think she quite enjoyed this idea šŸ˜

Cheeky was not so impressed she had stolen his little person!

In 2 short weeks her coat has a lovely glossy sheen and she has fitted in with the others like a glove. It’s like she’s always been here

There’s still work to be done to get her feet into better condition but that takes about 9-12months to grow out a new healthy hoof capsule. So we will keep adjusting them every 2 weeks to make sure she’s as comfortable as possible

She’s loving the freedom track life gives her and loves fuss and attention so the future looks bright for her 🐓

If you know a child that may need some pony love, nurturing and support. I know a few ponies who love to help:
Calm emotions
Talk about feelings
School support
Friendships
Managing ADHD/ASD

Get in touch šŸ“ž
I have this Friday afternoon available or
weds 3rd Dec 12-1pm
Thurs 4th 10-11am
Possibly Sat am if needed
If not, I am arranging space in January.

Some lovely Feedback this week ā¤ļø

So I’ve been a little quieter as I’m juggling the usual running a small business madness with reading, referencing and assignments for the MSc Neuroscience and psychology of mental health course…..

Yes, I am questioning my sanity!!!!
Why??? Do I do it to myself……

Well I do it for you….
For the children

This is why….

ā€˜Equine therapy is a great way to boost a child’s mood and make them feel safe. I would recommend this to anyone whose child struggles in school, as this has made our lives as a family so much more manageable and happier. For that we are forever grateful’

Because reviews like this may make me cry. But also fill my heart with pride šŸ’–

You guys keep me going when I want to cry, when I’m cold and wet and remembering the warmth of a classroom! When I’m tired and fed up of thinking of everything by myself.

Thank you 🄰

Boundaries….. how are yours???
Strict/rigid/ strong…..???
Flimsy/fluid/inconsistent???
Non existent???

It’s a conversation I have with children as well as adults.

Boundaries are something we need for ourselves, for others, for different situations

There are their to protect us and be respected.

They are essential for wellbeing as if our boundaries are constantly crossed or violated then it leads to frustration, miscommunication, break down of relationships and more….

They are important to keep us safe! For trust and for non verbal communication.

But are you confident in your boundaries?
Do others respect them?
Do you need help and support with this?
It’s so important
This feeds on from Mondays post about saying NO

I’m here to help if you need šŸ˜‰

This Mondays Motivation…..

It’s ok to say ā€˜NO’

ā¤ļø To protect your peace
ā¤ļø Be kind to yourself
ā¤ļø To look after you.

I am the Queen of taking on too much!!!
Saying No is something I have always struggled with…. šŸ™ˆ
But if it doesn’t lift you up, if you can feel yourself getting weighed down…..

SAY NO!
