Wearing a pad ‘just in case’ is common, not normal. If you have any worries about oops moments, please don’t think this is something you have to put up with just because you’ve had a baby or are menopausal. I hate that narrative! Postnatal check-ups - I love seeing women for postnatal check-ups! Often women are told they are “safe to return to exercise” after their 6-8 week check with the GP, but many women tell me that they don’t have the confidence in this when they haven’t had a physical examination. A postnatal check up by a pelvic health physio is a much longer appointment so we can be really thorough with everything we’re discuss with you and the physical examination. You’ll also leave with a plan of where to go from here to work towards your goals. Your body has done an incredible thing growing and birthing a tiny human, it deserves the opportunity for personalised rehab and recovery so you can get back to the exercise and activity you love.
