It is with great sadness that this week marks the end of Louise at Two River Osteopathy. She is moving on to sunnier climates! All of us wish you the very best. She has been a credit to the practice and we will miss her enormously. In the new year we welcome Mia to the practice. She will be taking over Louise's patient list and taking on new patients too. We are very excited to have her smiling face and bright energy joining us.

I thought my agility friends and clients would be interested in this post. Moss displayed an unusual jumping style at a competition 5 days ago. She has begun to “hang” in the air when jumping. This is a change in style for her and I felt it when I was running her. This is not abnormal for all dogs, but certainly is for Moss. After an assement of her back I found a sore and reactive spot on her left side between her thoracic and lumbar vertebrae (waist line). I have been treating this and getting her to do extension and flexion of this joint as shown in the pictures. She is not lame, uncomfortable on walks or displaying anything abnormal in her behaviour. I am lucky to be able to pick these small changes up and address them early. It’s important if your dog isn’t “where you thought they’d be”, on a run to assess if it is a small issue before it be comes a big issue. www.tworiversosteo.com

Over the last 4 years we have worked hard to make our entrance smarter and more user friendly. This has included block paving instead of cracked concrete reducing the chance of tripping, removing the parking posts to lessen the chance of knocking legs on the way in and out, parking lines to assist in parking placement and grippy porcelain tiles to reduce the chance of slipping on the steps. This has been costly. We ask our patients to be please take care when parking. We've had a few instances of parts of this upgrade being damaged. If this continues, we will have no choice but to remove the option of patient parking as the repairs are too costly. Thank you for your understanding.
