New NHS Lung Cancer screening for Tewkesbury.

Early detection saves lives.

All 55-74 year olds in Tewkesbury will be risk assessed for Lung Cancer.

Patients at higher risk will be contacted by ‘In Health’ who are the specialist screening team and if further questions indicate a higher risk a lung CT scan will be offered.

The specialist team will advise on the results and arrange urgent treatment if indicated.

There is the potential to pick up other issues with the scan - these results will be passed to your GP who will be in touch with you if this is the case.

We’re hosting a live session on Wednesday 15th April, 6–7pm where you can hear directly from specialists and get your questions answered.

What we’ll cover:
• What are the signs and symptoms of lung cancer?
• When should you be concerned?
• What should you do next?

Our speakers, Dr Henry Steer (Consultant in Thoracic Medicine) and Dr Jeremy Welch (GP), will be discussing common presentations, treatments, advice, and new screening opportunities.

Thursday 26th March is the next digital support drop in session at Mythe Medical Practice in partnership with the GRCC's DAISI Project

Thurs 26th Mar 3pm - 6pm - Mythe waiting room

These informal drop-in sessions are here to help you get the most from digital health tools, including accessing the NHS App or SystmOnline so you can view your medical records, order medication and see your test results.

You can come along at any time during the session for individual support – no appointment is needed. Please bring your phone or tablet with you.

Sessions run from 3pm to 6pm on the last Thursday of the month (every other month), starting January 2026. Ella from the GRCC's DAISI ProjectC's DAISI Project will be in the Mythe Medical Practice waiting room ready to help you
