🌨️ New Year, Winter Weather & Your Eyes ❄️
As we step into the New Year, colder temperatures and the possibility of snowfall are very much on the cards ❄️
While winter weather can be beautiful, it can also be surprisingly tough on your eyes.
Cold air, wind, and central heating can all contribute to:
- dry, irritated eyes
- watering or stinging in the cold
- increased light sensitivity (especially around snow and low winter sun)
- discomfort for contact lens wearers
A few simple tips can make a big difference:
- Protect your eyes outdoors with good-quality sunglasses to reduce glare
- Keep eyes well lubricated with suitable eye drops
- Stay hydrated — it really does help
- Don’t ignore persistent irritation or changes in vision
If your eyes feel uncomfortable this winter, or you’re not sure whether your current eyewear is giving you the protection you need, we’re always happy to help.
Here’s to a healthy, happy New Year — whatever the weather brings ✨
