Step into a realm where the world’s clamor fades, and all that remains is the gentle lull of nature, echoing whispers of comfort. This isn’t just any cabin; it's a sanctuary that beckons your weary soul to plaid blankets and crackling fires. Set against a backdrop of towering trees and shimmering lakes, this cozy retreat wraps you in a warm embrace that rejuvenates the spirit, reminding you that serenity is not a distant dream, but a heartbeat away.

As you cross the threshold, the sweet notes of woodsmoke curl through the air, mingling with the mouthwatering aroma of gingerbread cookies baking, inviting you to linger a little longer. The cabin's walls hold laughter that dances above game nights filled with friendly banter, where every shared story stitches friends closer together, transforming shared meals into cherished traditions. Sunlight spills through windows, illuminating rustic furniture that breathes life into a tapestry of heartfelt conversations and makes every moment memorable.

Yet, the warmth here seeps beyond the walls. It thrives in the smiles exchanged over coffee, the hugs shared between friends, and the comforting gestures that remind us of our common humanity. In a fragile world that sometimes feels indifferent, the magic of connection shines brightly, illuminating the path to compassion and kindness.

As we navigate times where distance threatens to pull us apart, let us take these moments back—we can cultivate kindness in every flickering candle and every freshly baked cookie. Together, let’s nurture spaces where warmth flourishes, proving that what we share only magnifies the love we receive.

🩵 This is Chris's website, a fellow No Hands Massage Therapist and a Personal Trainer..

I've had a few treatments with Chris.. even Massage Therapists need Treatments..

But I also found if I pace myself and give less Treatments, I don't put my body through such strain and need less treatments..

Unfortunately, during the days of giving 8 hours of Treatments a day, although I was much younger..

I did have a lot of pain in 1 side and in my hip at 1 stage.. And had to have an X- ray..

And it was a repetitive strain injury..

Muscle tightness..

I guess it's not natural to dedicated my body's use, for a whole 8 hours of the day to other people's aches & pains..

But I usually felt quite good at the end of the day and so did my Clients..

These days I'm happy to work a bit differently though..

And apologies 🙏 for any fall outs or anger vented on here.. that's just the way it goes sometimes really.. 💜 Xx

- as I dont just have to keep tolerating other people's sh*te..

I could tell you more stories, but I won't.. right now..

Thanks.. Xx ❤️ Take Care.. I will too..

Massage is purported to have an array of Benefits, including alleviating symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, Back Pain, Asthma, Fatigue, and even HIV.

A study shows there are sustained, cumulative beneficial effects of repeated Massage Therapy.

The effects persist for several days to a week, and differ depending on the frequency of sessions. Results of the study were reported on line in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.

Study researchers, led by Mark Hyman Rapaport, MD, examined the biological effects of repeated Massage Therapy and light touch intervention. In a prior study, the researchers found that healthy people who undergo a single session of Massage experience measureable changes in their body’s immune and endocrine response.

"We expanded the study to show the effects of REPEATED Massage because we believed the frequency of Massage, or the interval between Massages, may have different biological and psychological effects than a single session," explains Rapaport, chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine.

The study was conducted over a five-week period of time, assessing neuroendocrine and immune parameters. Study volunteers were randomized into four intervention groups to receive a concurrent five weeks of Swedish Massage once a week or twice a week, or a light touch control once a week or twice a week.

"We believe that understanding of the mechanisms of action underlying the effects of Massage and light touch in healthy individuals - including the effect of different frequency regimens on different biological systems - will help to guide the design of studies aimed at specific therapeutic effects for targeted populations."

🩵 This time last year I popped into a guy, who had fallen over, and broke his back, drunk a lot following a bereavement..

Care Work - I had a bit of a chat, made him a cup of Tea, a few times..

Picked him up a few things he needed - went over my time jusy a bit- started cleaning a bit.. bless.. things can be difficult for people sometimes.. I was glad to be popping in 💜 for just a few visits..

He said I had done more than all the others in just 1 visit..

I felt I probably had too, as most people are lazy buggers 💜 and do the least they can 😆 Xx

And lacking in initiative.. lol 💜 Xx

*** Bed Rest Is Not the Best for Beating Back Pain ***

When you are experiencing Lower Back Pain, your first instinct may be to crawl into bed.

Your doctor probably told you to do exactly that and prescribe you a handful of Pain killers.

But the tide has turned on our understanding of what is best for tackling Back Pain, and now the consensus is this:

When you have back pain, you should limit or avoid bed rest.

What the research says:

Clinical practice guidelines from the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Pain Society (APS) say that patients with Lower Back Pain should be advised to remain active.

Research to support this recommendation exists.

One survey of 10 studies, all of which compared Activity versus Rest for Lower Back Pain patients, found support for pain decreases in those who remained active.

Another study of Japanese workers with acute lower Back Pain found that those assigned to the rest group were more likely to have recurring or chronic back pain, compared with the active group.

Why activity is better than rest...

When you understand how the body works, it makes sense that activity would be better than inactivity to promote healing. From our bones to our soft tissues, our body needs movement and activity to stay in its best condition.

Lack of activity can have several negative effects:

Muscles can grow stiff and weakenSoft tissues like ligaments and tendons can lose their flexibility and become more vulnerable to injuryThe intervertebral discs, which hold fluid like a sponge, can lose nutrients and become dried out and inflexible

Without exercise, Back Pain will be prolonged and even increase, which further discourages activity.

In addition, bed rest can take a psychological toll on people, increasing the likelihood of Depression and Suffering.

Fortunately, all of this can be avoided by being active as soon as you’re able when back pain strikes.

When Pain is severe, your doctor may advise you to spend a day or two resting, but more than that should be avoided, if possible.

How to keep moving?

The best way to stay active even when Back Pain is present is this 3-prong approach:

Activities that strengthen your Core. Ie: Walking, Yoga, Pilates

Stretches that maintain flexibility

Massage Therapy to increase circulation, improve mobility and reduce PAIN.

a touch of magic massage treatments

I started studying basic body massage at a further education college, in my first year of a Psychology (BSc) degree, over twenty years ago. During this time I also worked as an auxilliary nurse in a local hospital, in a few departments, including Psychiatric, mainly supporting mothers with post-natal depression and elderly patients with depression and anxiety related disorders, because I really wanted to :) And I also realised medication wasn’t the complete answer when it came to care :) I spent a lot of time monitoring fluids, and talking to people, as well as being with people on 24 hour obs as they were vulnerable. I also worked in Intensive Care, Renal & Neurological Rehabilitation. Some of the work was quite interesting and some quite tough with lots of lifting.

On completing my degree I studied for a diploma in Aromatherapy and a teaching qualification whilst caring for a lady with Multiple Sclerosis. I then went to Japan to teach English for two years and it was there that I started to study and practice Reiki, as well as play the Taiko drums with a group of women drummers. They were amazing and a much needed break from my busy 20 hours teaching each week. They picked me up from my house for practice each week, which was often on the side of a mountain or next to a rice paddy field. And were keen to get me to perform with them, which I did several times and enjoyed.

I then went to New Zealand for 1 year and spent time on organic farms and Yoga retreats, helping with fasting workshops and with organic farming. On my return, I came to Oxford and studied Reflexology, Indian Head massage, more advanced massage and I started working from from eau de vie, Natural Health Centre in Oxford. I gave treatments from there for over 10 years. Studied No Hands Massage, Practitioner Level, Advanced and one year on the Mastery training programme.

I also gave treatments from La Manior for 3 years, which I enjoyed, but could no longer tolerate the inappropriate shoes they were asking us to wear. whilst carrying heavy bags and a massage table up flights of stairs, I now give treatments from The Space Yoga in Thame, Yoga for Harmony in Windsor, The Wellbeing Clinic, Oxford only now and again & Home Visit Treatments or Events, Pamper Parties/ Yoga Retreats.
