It shouldn’t feel complicated to start feeling better in your body.

Somewhere along the way it became so important to track everything, fix everything and optimise everything!

Instead of doing something we enjoyed because it made us feel good, we have started to run the risk of doing totally the opposite and causing ourselves more angst and overwhelm.

The shift perhaps we need to make in the way we approach everything is not to give our body more pressure, but to give it more support.

Because when your system is overwhelmed, pushing it harder can backfire and your motivation can disappear.

What are you doing right now that you enjoy and makes you feel that it’s actually working for your body and not against it?

It’s different for all of us, but the important thing is to find something that creates longevity for your body and helps you future proof your strength, mobility, flexibility and stability.

Honestly, I’ve been feeling really flat building this….

There is so much noise around how you’re “meant” to look after your body as you get older.

• how you should exercise
• what you should eat
• how to sleep better
• what to cut out

And at some point…it just becomes overwhelming.

You don’t know which advice to follow anymore.

And if I’m honest, I’ve felt that too recently.

I’m so proud of the work I do helping women who feel disconnected from their changing body…

But behind the scenes?

I’m juggling:

• working as a nurse in a busy NHS environment
• trying to build something that I know could genuinely help more women
• and still looking after my body at the same time

And some days…

👉 it’s just exhausting.

But this is also why I’m creating this.

Because I know how many women are feeling:

• overwhelmed
• unsure what actually works
• fed up of trying everything with no clear direction.

What I keep coming back to is this:

👉 it shouldn’t feel this complicated.

You shouldn’t need 10 different strategies just to feel better in your own body.

You need something simpler.
Something that actually makes sense.
Something that works with your body, not against it.

That’s exactly what I’m building.

I said what I said 👀

Somewhere along the way we were taught that:

👉 sore = successful
👉 shattered = effective
👉 pushing harder = the answer

But here’s what I see every week…

Women already tired, already tight and already feeling disconnected from the body and with a nervous system that is working overtime.

And the last thing they need?
Another workout that batters them.

Pilates isn’t about flogging yourself into the ground.

It’s about:

✨moving with your body instead of against it
✨ building strength that actually supports your life
✨ feeling energised, not wiped out

You should leave a session thinking ‘wow, I feel better than when I walked in’,

You should leave a class feeling stronger, more open and more like you again.

Not feeling punished and less energetic.

If you’ve been feeling more overwhelmed, more reactive, or just not quite like yourself…..

There’s a reason for it.

Your body is responding differently now, especially when it comes to stress, energy and recovery.

And what used to work before?

Yes I know, I know. We’ve heard it so many times before. What used to work before doesn’t work now, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!

But are you doing anything about it or just switching off because the same old spiel bores you?

I get it. I’m sick of hearing it too. But to be quite blunt with you, we do need to learn to understand what our body is doing as the first step to feel more in control of it again.

So what have you tried or are trying right now?

There was a time in my life when I was constantly in fight-or-flight.

Juggling everything.
Sleeping badly.
Pushing through.

Even running, something which I’ve done for years and really love felt hard - like I couldn’t properly breathe.

It wasn’t that I needed more intensity.

I needed steadiness.

Yoga helped me reconnect.
Strength training and Pilates rebuilt my confidence.
Sleep and rhythm brought my nervous system back down.

That’s why I talk about consistency.

That’s why I say calm before strength.

Because when life destabilises you, your body follows.

And the way back isn’t punishment.
It’s intelligent strength and steady rhythm.

Let’s start to reframe how we think about strength. It’s not always how long we can stay in a certain pose or how slowly we can lower in a long plank for chaturanga.

Maybe our strength should be seen as how consistent we are in showing up for something that we know benefits us emotionally as well as physically.

I’m building something designed exactly around this concept. That strength comes from inner strength as well as physical strength and through a community of others who support our practice.

I’m moving away from drop-in movement and into something more intentional.

Not because drop-ins are bad - but because they don’t support the kind of grounding, strength and nervous system regulation most of us are actually looking for.

‘Grounded & Strong’ is an ongoing yoga class, practice and community for people who want to feel calmer, stronger and more connected to their body - without having to decide every week.

Classes run weekly, but they’re held inside a supportive structure that values repetition, progression and nervous system safety.

You don’t need motivation.
You need a community that carries you.

Lately I’ve been having more and more conversations with women who say:

“I don’t feel confident in my body anymore - and I’m scared of doing the wrong thing.”

This is exactly why I offer 1:1 work.

As a registered nurse and movement specialist I work with women who want safe, personalised strength and movement - especially when their body feels different, unpredictable or less responsive than it used to.

My Purebody Women’s Health 1:1 Programme is a 6-week, nurse-led approach combining clinical Pilates, strength, yoga and breathwork.

It’s not about pushing harder - it’s about understanding your body and rebuilding trust in it.

I’m opening up a small number of 1:1 spaces over the next few weeks.

A little introduction (or reintroduction), because faces and stories matter here 🩶

I’m Adele - a registered nurse and women’s health & clinical movement specialist. Alongside running Purebody by Adele, I still work in the NHS, I’m studying towards my Advanced Clinical Practice Masters qualification, and I teach Pilates, Yoga and Barre with a strong clinical and pelvic health focus.

I’m also a mum of two, a dog owner, a runner, someone who strength trains, values nutrition, and really values time with family and friends.

I’ve been a nurse for nearly 26 years and teaching group classes and 1:1 sessions for over 21 years. I know what it’s like to juggle a lot - physically, mentally and emotionally.

Challenging life events have helped shaped me into the person and teacher that I am today, and my work is shaped by both clinical training and lived experience.

This life experience helps me support women who want movement that feels supportive, grounded, and realistic for the bodies and lives they’re living now, and my aim is to create a safe space for women to move and calm their nervous system.

We should try to remember to meet ourselves where we are at this moment in time, and to see movement as a way to support our life to feel more at home in our body.
