From 1 October 2025, all GP practices now keep their online consultation systems open during core hours (7.45–18:30). This is to make sure patients can access the practice fairly—whether by phone, online, or in person.

At Thatcham Medical Practice, we will continue to use Anima so patients can send in non-urgent clinical or administrative requests at any time during our opening hours without having to waiting on the phone.
Even if our urgent capacity for the day is full.

Westcall are covering the surgery during this period of time. If you require advice or treatment, please call NHS 111

The surgery will re -open as normal on Thursday 4th December from 8am (7.45 for Anima requests)

Patient Update ❗️

Making the Most of Our GP Appointments This Winter 🩺❄️

A new service is now available to patients in West Berkshire called Same Day Access (SDA). The purpose of this service is to provide remote telephone consultations for patients aged 1 and over who have been identified by their GP (via Anima) as suitable for a remote consultation.

This new service will provide an additional 8 appointments per day for Thatcham Medical Practice. This means more appointments will be available for patients with minor ailments, helping us make the best use of our GP time and improving access to care.
