Curious about how a private autism assessment works for children? Here’s what to expect at Total Health West Berkshire:
🌟 Step 1: We start with pre-assessment forms for parents and teachers, helping us understand your child’s everyday experiences.
🌟 Step 2: Next is the ADOS or observation assessment of your child, this is a friendly and warm assessment which will appear play like to your child this takes place face to face in our clinic Total Health West Berkshire based in Thatcham.
🌟 Step 3: We then schedule the ADIR assessment. Where we talk to you and discuss how your child has been throughout their life as a baby and infant, their social interactions.
🌟 Step 4: The clinicians who have been assessing your child will meet to discuss their findings.
🌟 Step 5: We finish with a supportive feedback appointment, followed by a full report including local support groups and how we can support you post assessent.
🌟 Step 6: 8 week follow up. We know that the assessment process can be overwhelming and it can take a while for everything to sink in so we follow up with you 8 weeks post assessment to see how you are and what further help you may need
We know this journey can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help every step of the way. If you’d like to chat about the process, do get in touch! 💙
