Last Friday, the Burdwood team wore pink to work in support of Breast Cancer Now, on Day!

We all donated to the cause and raised £78.50. 🥳

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service are holding drop in morning for Armed Forces Veterans on November 3rd from 10am. Please pop in for a chance to chat and meet other veterans and charities and other organisations that may be offer support. Complimentary refreshments will be available.

Patient Services Advisor

We are seeking a Patient Services Advisor to work in our busy reception team.

Required for 16 hours per week - 1 morning shift and 2 afternoon shifts (with flexibility to cover additional hours as required for staff holiday / sickness)

The working pattern is:
Monday 13:45 - 18:45, Tuesday 07:45 - 13:45, Friday 13:45 - 18:45.

The successful applicant will join an established and friendly team of 9, supported by a dedicated Reception Manager and wider Management Team.
You must be a team player, willing to learn and looking for a fresh and rewarding challenge.

You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors coming into the surgery so excellent communication skills and resilience is essential. The role also requires the efficient undertaking of all administrative duties, using both manual and online services.

Reducing medicines waste 💊

Medicine waste is estimated to cost the NHS nationally around £300m each year.

However, you can help us reduce medicine waste across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire West (BOB) by making small changes which will make a massive difference.

Everyone has a part to play – tips and advice:
- Check what medicines you have at home before asking for more – even knowing the expiry date on items in your medicine cabinet can help reduce waste.
- If you have any questions about your medication, speak to your pharmacist.
- When ordering your medication, don’t tick an item if you don’t need it.
- Check your pharmacy bag when you collect your order as items cannot be returned once you have left the pharmacy.

You cannot currently book a COVID-19 vaccination using the NHS booking service. For most people, vaccinations are only available seasonally.The COVID-19 vaccination bookings service will reopen when seasonal vaccinations are available.

⚠️ FLU & COVID-19 VACCINATION INFORMATION

Flu and COVID-19 Seasonal Vaccination Programme autumn/winter 2025/26 information.

We will be offering eligible patients' flu and COVID-19 vaccinations at Burdwood Surgery.

You will be sent an invitation from us at the 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, and you will be able to book these appointments via Anima. You will also be able to book by calling our dedicated vaccine line and in person.

In July 2025, we had 𝟭𝟭𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 due to patients not attending their appointment and not letting us know.

We understand that plans change and you may not be able to attend your appointment, but please let us know if this is the case.

You can cancel on the NHS app or call us and leave a message on our cancellation line.
We ask that you give us as much notice as possible (a minimum of 1 hour) so that we can offer the appointment to another patient.
