If you truly listened to your nervous systemโฆ what would you honour next year?
After protecting my energy and nervous system last week โค๏ธโ๐ฉน, Iโve been thinking a lot about the version of me Iโm stepping into for 2026.
Because being a solopreneur is incredibleโฆ but itโs also a constant dance.
Thereโs no clocking off at 5pm. No guaranteed weekends. No neat separation between โworkโ and โlife.โ
But hereโs the truth I keep coming back to:
Iโve done the years of working Christmas Eve until the Pharmacy shutters went down.
Iโve worked Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Yearโs Dayโฆ
Iโve lived the grind, the rota, the exhaustion.
And now?
Now I get to choose differently.
To prioritise presence.
To honour my nervous system instead of overriding it.
To step into a year where balance isnโt a luxury โ itโs a non-negotiable.
โจ And hereโs the part that really hit me this week: โจ
The two photos Iโm sharing were taken 15 years apart โ the first one in the dispensary at Warburtons Chemist, taken by my dad (yesโฆ with a broken hand ๐
), and the secondโฆ the woman Iโve grown into.
Two versions of me. Two completely different lives.
One thread running through both: I was always becoming her.
So in 2026, Iโm choosing:
๐ซ Work that lights me up, not drains me
๐ซ Time with loved ones that isnโt squeezed around my schedule
๐ซ Focus when Iโm working, rest when Iโm not
๐ซ A rhythm that supports my wellbeing, not just my business
This is the identity shift Iโm making โ slow, intentional, sustainable.
๐ญ And the question I want to leave you with is this:
If you truly listened to your nervous systemโฆ what would you honour next year?
