Our practice will be closed for the Christmas holidays from 18:30 on Wednesday 24th to 08:00 on Monday 29th December. During this time, we will not be able to provide routine appointments or prescription services.

If you need medical advice or treatment while we are closed, please use one of the following alternatives:

• NHS 111 – Call 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk for urgent medical advice and urgent prescriptions.

• Pharmacies – Many local pharmacies remain open and can provide advice and treatment for minor illnesses.

• Urgent Care Centres / Walk-in Clinics – Check local availability for non-emergency care.

• Emergency Services – For life-threatening emergencies, call 999 or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department.

📢 Thornton Medical Centre; Important Patient Notice – Assistance Dogs Only from 1st November

Following patient feedback, we would like to inform everyone that from 1 November, only assistance dogs will be permitted to enter the practice building.

This change helps us maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all patients — especially those with allergies, anxieties, or medical conditions.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. 🐾💙

Join us for World Mental Health Day on 10th October. We will be at Lockwood GP Surgery 10am - 12pm and then at The Village Practice 2pm - 4pm

On Wednesday afternoon, 8 October, there will be changes to our service to accommodate training for all staff.

Our phone lines will close at 1pm.

During this time the reception will be staffed and we will be seeing patients.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however this is to allow us to provide all staff training activities.

We will open as normal at 8am on Thursday 9 October

Our flu/Covid clinic will be taking place tomorrow 8am - 2pm. If you are eligible and a Village Practice patient and have not booked an appointment you are able to attend and have your vaccination.

Bad weather is predicted for tomorrow. the clinic WILL still go ahead.

If your appointment is at 8am there is no need to be standing in the rain to make sure you are there for 8am. If you are a little late you will still get seen (providing you are there for 2pm).
