📢 Thornton Medical Centre; Important Patient Notice – Assistance Dogs Only from 1st November

Following patient feedback, we would like to inform everyone that from 1 November, only assistance dogs will be permitted to enter the practice building.

This change helps us maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all patients — especially those with allergies, anxieties, or medical conditions.

Contractual changes to our online service.

We would like to inform you of some important updates regarding the PATCHs Messaging Service.

Please be advised that our messaging service, PATCHs, has recently updated its method of delivering notifications and text messages. Messages will now be sent through the NHS App. To ensure you continue to receive important updates and appointment reminders:

1 - Please download the NHS App, which is available for both iOS and Android devices.

2 - Kindly enable notifications within the app's settings.

We are experiencing an unprecedented level of sickness at the surgery today. We are triaging all calls and treating the most acutely ill patients as well as we can. Alternatively you may be directed to the Walk in Centre if we have no appointments left. Please bear with us and be kind to our ladies on the phones who are trying their best to prioritise the most urgent cases.

The Walk in Centres on Dock Street, Fleetwood or Whitegate Drive , Blackpool are both open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
