We’re really sorry to let you know that our pool is still closed while we wait for essential maintenance work to be carried out. We know how important these sessions are for your pups, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while we get everything back up and running safely.

We wanted to let all our lovely clients know that we’re still awaiting some essential maintenance work to be carried out at our hydrotherapy centre.

Until this is completed, we’re unable to confirm a reopening date. We know how much your pups are looking forward to getting back in the pool, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. 💙

🌺 Remembrance Day 🌺

Today, we take a quiet moment to remember.

We think of all the brave people who served and sacrificed so much — and also of the incredible animals who stood beside them. From loyal dogs to strong horses and steadfast pigeons, their courage and companionship meant the world to those they served with.

We see every day just how special the bond between people and animals can be. On this Remembrance Day, we’re especially grateful for that connection, and for all those who gave so much for others.

🐾 Meet Goose! 🦆💦

This adorable 5-month-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever puppy has been an absolute joy in the pool! 💚

Goose has only had two hydrotherapy sessions so far, but what a difference already — his swimming has come on leaps and bounds, and his confidence in the water has grown so much. 🏊‍♂️🐶

He’s quickly turning into a little water baby, and we couldn’t be prouder of how hard he’s working (and how much fun he’s having!). 🥰

🐾 Meet Mabel & Ernie 🐾

This Dachshund duo visit us every week for their underwater treadmill sessions!

As Dachshunds, they’re extra prone to IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) due to their long backs and short legs. To help keep them strong, flexible and pain-free, Mabel and Ernie enjoy regular hydrotherapy sessions designed to build muscle, support their spine and protect against future injuries.

🐶Why Hydrotherapy helps dogs of all shapes and sizes:
• the buoyancy of water reduces strain on joints and the spine, allowing the dogs to move more freely
• the resistance of the water provides a gentle but effective workout, helping to strengthen muscles and improve coordination
• it promotes circulation, flexibility and confidence in movement - ideal for dogs recovering from injury, managing arthritis or just needing low impact exercise

Hello and Welcome to South Coast Hydrotherapy School.

We are an ABC Awards approved training centre located on the Dorset, Hampshire border. We offer accredited canine courses and CPD that are delivered by highly qualified and experienced hydrotherapists, physiotherapists, behaviourists and veterinary surgeons.

We have strictly limited numbers on our courses as we believe in delivering quality not quantity and wish to maintain the friendly, personal touch and provide as much individual tuition to our learners as possible. In this way, we are able to guarantee a minimum of 40 hours practical hands on experience in the pool and treadmill, rather than just observing. We are also able to tailor our delivery of the curriculum to students individual needs.

The premises consist of a purpose built hydrotherapy unit with a larger than average teaching pool, a treadmill, new classroom complex with study resources, kitchen and rest rooms, and secure outdoor facilities for gait and behavioural observation.
