January arrives with all this pressure to feel fresh, motivated, new.
And yet… you feel exhausted. Flat. Heavy.
So you do the sensible thing — you book a holiday.
Great! ✔️ Something to look forward to.
But then it’s done.
And you’re back on the sofa, under a blanket.
Here’s the thing:
You’re not lazy.
You’re not unmotivated.
And you’re definitely not broken.
You’re just very, very tired in a quiet way.
✨ My tip:
Stop waiting for “enough time” or the right energy to appear — it rarely does.
Low energy doesn’t mean you need more motivation.
It usually means your body needs something back.
You don’t have to change your routine, add another task, or push yourself harder.
Sometimes the most effective reset is allowing yourself to pause, switch off, and be looked after — even for a short while.
That might look like:
• someone else sorting dinner (takeaway counts)
• a hot shower where you don’t rush
• cancelling one non-essential plan without explaining yourself
• going to bed earlier and leaving the washing up till tomorrow
• a slow morning coffee or tea before the house wakes up
• sitting in silence instead of scrolling
• asking for help — and letting it be imperfect
Personally, when I feel like this, I book myself a massage.
Because I spend my days looking after others, giving time, energy and touch.
And when you’re always the one giving, your body eventually needs to receive something back.
Being looked after — even in small ways — helps your nervous system settle, your body soften, and your energy slowly return.
That’s when people often notice they feel lighter, calmer, and more like themselves again.
And if right now you don’t have anyone who can do something for you…
If you’re the one who always looks after everyone else…
Just remember — you don’t have to do it all on your own.
If you ever need someone to help you pause, soften, and feel looked after for a while,
I’m here.
