Today we had the privilege of leading a cortège of a much loved lady through The Black Country Living Museum in tribute to her and her work at the museum.
This photo was taken overlooking the famous bridge and ‘Bottle & Glass Inn.’
Special thanks to Nigel, the Museum’s resident ‘Undertaker’ who helped to lead the cortège.

If you are considering a 'Direct Cremation' or know someone who is then you should watch and share this video. Unlike the polished marketing videos put out by some Direct Cremation companies, this is a simple but poignant video of a lady who witnessed Direct Cremation first hand. As experienced Funeral Directors ourselves, we have heard many similar stories. We would simply say 'yes it is ultimately your choice, but recognise that a funeral service is not to benefit you, but for the friends and family left behind.'
An attended funeral, however painful, is an important step in coming to terms with the grief of losing a loved one.
Direct Cremations have been marketed as being cheaper, but then an attended funeral doesn't have to be an elaborate or expensive affair, it can be simple and is often far better value for money.
If you want a 'Direct Cremation' then that is fine, we can help and support you with that, but please choose a 'Direct Cremation' for all the right reasons, after careful consideration of all the available options and discussion with those that you love x

We have been informed by Wolverhampton Council Bereavement Services at 2:30pm today that all cremations and burials scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled.
We ourselves will do our best to continue to provide service to families entrusted to our care regardless of the weather conditions in those Crematoria and Cemeteries run by other local councils which have chosen to remain open.
