Sally Deane is a highly qualified and experienced acupuncture practitioner based in Kent and East Sussex, UK, who operates her own practice, Acupuncture in Kent and Sussex. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), ensuring adherence to a strict code of ethics and safe practice. 

Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Sally holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture from the International College of Oriental Medicine in East Grinstead, an intensive four-year course that included Western Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Chinese Medicine and Pathology and over 150 hours of clinical practice.
International Exposure: She spent time in Shanghai, China, observing the integration of acupuncture with Western medicine in university hospitals.
Additional Skills: In addition to acupuncture, Sally is also a qualified therapeutic and sports massage therapist, a skill that complements her acupuncture treatments well.
Professional Roles: Sally has a diverse background, including previously working in the banking industry before transitioning to alternative therapies. She has also acted as the team's acupuncturist and massage practitioner for Great Britain's Tent Pe***ng team at the World Championships in Oman. 

Specialisations and Treatments:
Sally treats a wide variety of conditions, with particular expertise in: 
Fertility and Gynaecological Conditions: She specifically specialises in infertility treatments and general gynaecological issues.
Pain Management: She treats both general aches and pains, as well as chronic and severe conditions, receiving referrals from osteopaths, chiropractors, oncologists and GPs.
Menopause: Sally uses acupuncture to help alleviate menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, anxiety and insomnia.
General Wellbeing: Treatments are also available for conditions like migraines, anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestive problems and to generally boost energy levels and vitality.
Facial Acupuncture: She offers cosmetic/facial acupuncture that aims to improve facial tone, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and stimulate collagen production.

Just a polite reminder about my late cancellation/missed appointment policy. I require a minimum of 24 hrs notice (48 hrs would be perfect) if a cancellation or reschedule is required. I do have busy clinics and often hold a wait list to try and fit others in. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hrs notice or missed completely due to non urgent reasons, I need to charge the full appointment cost. Acupuncture is my work and not a hobby, so it pays my bills etc. Thank you for your understanding.

This is an article in a well known health magazine, What Doctors Don't Tell You. We all know there are some western drugs that are needed to maintain life, but there's an awful lot of drugs out there that are not needed. I have been working with a patient over the past 2 yrs to wean her off of over 20 different drugs! It's been a tough 2 yrs for her, but she can now walk without a walker, she speaks clearly and she is not feeling like a zombie now. According to Chinese astrology, the Snake symbolises intelligence, mystery, and renewal. In 2025, the Wood Snake will bring new opportunities for growth and change.

The 2025 element wood, lends the Snake's traits greater versatility, growth, and creativity.

The year of the Wood Snake is likely to benefit everyone in different ways. It will have many of us on the move, while some of us may finally have the chance to take a break after a challenging Dragon year of 2024.

This is especially special to me as I was born in the year of the Wood Snake 🐍, which only happens every 60 years!

A news article has emerged today about the rise in people taking short courses, often just a weekend course, in the practice of acupuncture! This completely horrifies me as acupuncture can be dangerous if practiced with very little knowledge and experience. I completed a four year BSc Hons Degree where I obtained a 2.1 in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, 13 years ago. I studied at the renowned International College of Oriental Medicine in East Grinstead. I am a fully licensed and insured Acupuncture Practitioner and a member of The British Acupuncture Council. I have very recently had a new patient who, not long after having a Hepatitis Travel Vaccination, developed Bells Palsy. The patient was unable to blink their right eye, unable to lift their right eyebrow and unable to smile with the right side of their mouth. I treated this new patient for the first time and that evening, sensation began to return. I saw them this week for the 2nd time, the patient was able to blink, raise the eyebrow and smile very evenly. I do love my job!
