Rachel Rowland Health Coaching & Hypnotherapy

Rachel Rowland Health Coaching & Hypnotherapy I am a Health Coach & Hypnotherapist based in Tonbridge and a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society. I help people take control of their lives.

I will work closely with you to design a coaching plan that will enable you to achieve your health goals. Hypnotherapy is an alternative treatment for a variety of health conditions, including weight control, pain management and smoking cessation. Many people are turning to hypnotherapy because of the high success rates. Hypnotherapy involves achieving a psychological state of awareness that is different from the ordinary state of consciousness. While in a hypnotic state, heightened susceptibility to suggestion occurs. This state of awareness can be achieved by relaxing the body, focusing on breathing, and shifting attention away from the external environment. In this state, the patient has a heightened receptivity to suggestion. The usual procedure for inducing a hypnotic trance in another person is by direct command repeated in a soothing, monotonous tone of voice.

For those who are struggling with IBS-C, IBS-D, or IBS-M you might be interested in doing some research on FODMAPs because following a low FODMAP diet has been shown to alleviate some or all of your symptoms. Some of the symptoms of IBS include episodes of diarrhoea, constipation or both, bloating, stomach pain or cramps and even sharp pain. There may be days when your symptoms are better and days when they're worse. They may be triggered by some foods and some drinks.

What are FODMAPs?

FODMAPs are a group of sugars that are not completely digested or absorbed in our intestines. When FODMAPs reach the small intestine, they move slowly, attracting water. When they pass into the large intestine, FODMAPs are fermented by gut bacteria, producing gas as a result. The extra gas and water cause the intestinal wall to stretch and expand. Because people with IBS have a highly sensitive gut, ‘stretching’ the intestinal wall causes exaggerated sensations of pain and discomfort

Put simply, FODMAPs are a collection of short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) that aren’t absorbed properly in the gut, which can trigger symptoms in people with IBS. FODMAPs are found naturally in many foods and food additives.

The main FODMAPs present in fruit are sorbitol and excess fructose. Some fruits high in excess fructose are cherries, mangoes and pears.

The main FODMAPs present in vegetables are fructans and mannitol. Veg high in mannitol include cauliflower and mushrooms and those rich in fructans include garlic, leeks and onions.

Get in touch if you would like to discuss your symptoms and are looking for a clear plan to alleviate these uncomfortable, and often painful symptoms, from your life.

Hypnotherapy has the capacity to help with a wide range of health issues and concerns. If you are struggling with menopausal symptoms, hypnotherapy can help significantly reduce hot flushes and night sweats. Research has shown that focusing on cooling imagery whilst in a state of hypnosis allows for greater control over hot flushes and can help to prevent them altogether. In addition, symptoms such as brain fog, stress and fatigue can be reduced and sleep can be significantly improved. Get in touch with me today to book an initial consultation!

I am a qualified Health Coach and Hypnotherapist, and a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society. One of my passions is helping women over 40 to live a healthy and happy life as they approach the menopause. I aim to provide nutritional support as well as lifestyle suggestions, working together with the client to design a coaching plan that works for them. I use Hypnotherapy alongside coaching to aid with weight loss, to reduce anxiety and stress and to aid sleep.

My initial consultancy session is £45. This is an in-depth case taking session. I am able to get to the bottom of why the client is feeling the way they are and establish their current lifestyle and dietary choices. This is followed by a detailed programme, including dietary guidelines, nutritional advice, exercise plan, change in lifestyle suggestions, and you receive a personalised hypnotherapy script which can be recorded and used at home. Each session, which can be booked weekly, fortnightly or monthly is £80.

I am currently taking on new clients in the West Kent area. Please message for more information and to book a consultation.
