Very proud of our incredible Accessibility Team!

The Oaks Specialist College in Tonbridge is celebrating after its accessibility team was named Gold Winner for Transformational Use of Digital Technology at the 2025 Pearson National Teaching Awards - the Oscars of the teaching world 🎉✨

The team has revolutionised how everyday tech – from smartphones to AI – helps students with learning difficulties take part fully in college life 📱🤖

Their work has earned The Oaks recognition as a Microsoft Showcase College and is influencing practice nationwide 🌍

Selected from thousands of nominees, the team was honoured at a star-studded ceremony in London, applauded for its innovation and life-changing impact on young people 💛👏

Today marked a special day for 6 young people as they start their journeys to employment.
Today they got to visualise what their futures will look like by visiting their future workplace at The Civic Centre in Bromley.
Today their enthusiasm and dedication to their futures was awe inspiring.
We are beyond excited for them and this incredible partnership.

Staff and residents from Tonbridge House Care Home visited the college today to enjoy a festive Christmas lunch, all beautifully prepared by the learners with the help of Mags from Cook for Life. The learners did an amazing job cooking and serving the lunch as well as handcrafting the beautiful table decorations and gifts. A huge thank you to Kelly at Tonbridge House Care Home, Tonbridge, who continues to support our learners by providing valuable work-related learning opportunities, we greatly value your support and look forward to strengthening our community partnership.
