Evening everyone!
I don't know about you guys, but I'm glad last week's rain has gone, although the wind this week has been bitter!!
One person that is never bitter around here though, is Dylan Dinsdale, an amazing member of our dedicated grounds team.

Dylan is fully qualified in horticulture, studying and passing his level 2 qualification at the highly regarded bicton college. Joining us back in June 2022, he's brought knowledge and a bucket full of enthusiasm to the team.
With 5 children at home, Dylan is every bit the family man, however, in the small amount of spare time he gets, he does love a good rummage at the skip! One man's waste is another man's treasure is his motto....
He's also more of an entrepreneur than Delboy himself, with a million ideas coming through Dylans head on a daily basis. This time next year eh Dylan...... 😉

Keep doing what you do Dylan, it's a pleasure having you here and your work doesn't go unnoticed. Huge thanks.

Well folks, it's been a wet and miserable week in the bay, and the rain is lashing down as I write this!! I am going to brighten up your day though, and introduce you all too our very own ray of sunshine, Louisa Fleming.
Louisa is our memorial advisor here at Torbay Crematorium, and goes above and beyond to make sure your loved ones are remembered perfectly. An ex funeral director, Louisa brings a huge wealth of industry knowledge to the table.
Outside of work Louisa lives with her daughter Aoife and spends a lot of her spare time playing taxi driver to a teenager. Any time she has left over she divides between visiting her partner Lee in Kidderminster, going on long walks, popping to the pub for a sly half and believe it or not drawing cartoons. We can't wait to see some of those someday!
Louisa is a huge and valued part of the team here, and is appreciated by us all.

We are hosting our annual Christmas memorial service on Wednesday 10th December at 6pm. All are welcome to attend and refreshments will be available. 🫶Wow, it's the end of another week and we've just realised there aren't many of these left until the big man comes down the chimney. We're going to give you an early gift today though and introduce you to another member of our amazing team.

Andy Bedford is one of our Crematorium and Cemetery Assistants, learning his trade up north in the Mercia Forest Crematorium in Wolverhampton. Fancying a change of scenery, but not a change of career he managed to move everything south, including his job.
Andy gets a great satisfaction from his job, working as part of a great team and helping take care of your loved ones.
Outside of work Andy is a huge lover of the great outdoors, spending time shooting, fishing and kayaking.
On his more relaxing days he loves spending time with his partner Lisa and their two labradors.
As always, huge thanks Andy for all you do, it's a pleasure to have you here and long may it continue.

Evening all!! It seems that we've reached the end of the week again (I'm sure they get quicker) which means it's time to meet an amazing member of our team.

A giant of a man in his old job, Russell Medforth enjoyed his job tending the gardens in the model village in Torquay, towering over houses and little people.
Fancying another challenge 4 years ago, Russell joined the grounds team here and was a very welcome individual indeed. His knowledge and love of plants is huge and he enjoys nothing more than sharing that with others.
They say that when you really enjoy your job, you never work a day in your life and that's how Russell feels here. Working with a great team in some lovely grounds, the job has brought as much joy to him as he brings to the job.
Outside of work, Russell likes nothing more than walking his 3 dogs and doing nice things out and about with his wife. Whenever he does get a bit of spare time, he really enjoys a bit of invigorating wild swimming as well.
Huge thanks Russell for the effort you put in here for us, it doesn't go unnoticed and is hugely appreciated.
