Today we took a gentle step back in time with a borrowed memory box from Lloyds Bank. Inside were little treasures from the past — a magazine from 1969, coins from across the years, and even a driving licence dated 1958.
Each item sparked smiles, stories, and moments of shared reminiscing. It was a lovely, unhurried time spent remembering, reflecting, and connecting — and it was heart-warming to see just how much joy these memories brought to everyone. 💙

🎉 Happy Birthday, Anthea! 🎉
Just before Christmas our lovely Anthea had a truly special birthday, starting the morning celebrating with her family before spending the rest of the day being thoroughly spoiled by her Beechmount family. 💕
Residents joined in the fun — especially George, who turned a good deed game into a full-time job by gifting Anthea a series of very random objects throughout the day, much to everyone’s amusement! 🎁😂
As always, Anthea brightened the whole home with her award-winning smile as she opened her beautiful presents from family and friends. 💐✨
Happy Birthday, Anthea — thank you for filling Beechmount with laughter, warmth, and smiles on your special day. 💛

💛 Good Deeds & Green Smiles at Beechmount 💛
We were lucky to be joined by Hayley from HR today, who came along to support our Good Deeds activities — and what a wonderfully positive day it turned out to be! 🌱✨
As part of our green agenda, residents recycled old bird feeders and filled them with tasty seeds and peanuts for our local wildlife. With encouragement and a friendly face cheering them on, we managed to get four bird feeders filled and hung up — much to everyone’s delight. 🐦💚
The day didn’t stop there… we also enjoyed making paper chains, playing Christmas games, and rolling the compliment ball, spreading smiles and kindness all around. And in Susie’s words: “What a wonderfully positive day this is.” 💕
A perfect example of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference — to people, nature, and our community.

Each year, as a heartfelt thank you, South West Care Homes gift every member of staff a Christmas gift for our appreciation. It’s a lovely reminder that this really is a special place to work — where kindness, care, and gratitude don’t just extend to the people we support, but to the staff team who give so much of themselves every day.

🎄🎈 Christmas Party Fun at Beechmount! 🎈🎄
Our team leader, Lovely, got well and truly stuck in at today’s Christmas party, taking to the floor to lead some easy, fun balloon games — throwing the balloon back and forth and getting everyone involved!
While simple, activities like this are brilliant for encouraging gentle movement, light exercise, coordination, and a healthy dose of friendly competition. The best part? The laughter could be heard all the way down the hallway! 😄

💛 1000 Good Deeds – David the Word Search Champion! 💛
As part of our 1000 Good Deeds Challenge, our very own David went above and beyond by helping another resident finish their word search when they were starting to feel frustrated. 🧩✨
David is always a true team player — kind, patient, and happy to help anyone who needs it. His support turned frustration into smiles and success!

💙 Beechmount – 1000 Good Deeds 💙
This winter, our residents wanted to do something thoughtful to support our country’s veterans — many of whom face the colder months without the warmth and comfort they deserve.
To help make a difference, items including blankets, socks, hats, and gloves were donated to support veterans this winter. Our Activities Lead, Katy, popped over to Primark, who are running a fantastic Christmas campaign in support of SSAFA, and donated the items on behalf of Beechmount.
A small act of kindness can go a long way, and we’re incredibly proud to be part of a community that cares.
