So, I thought I would give you all my perspective on why I think that Charlotte is amazing for doing what she is doing and our why as to why we keep on fundraising.

As some of you may know; I am a perinatal educator and ex Nanny (with 15 years experience). In the Summer of 2020 I had a phone call off some mad woman who wanted to offer free, educational baby classes for those families that had been affected by COVID. I thought that this was an amazing idea, as it's just what the community needed! Families needed support and a smiley face, as well as fun and laughter. Mummy and Me was a totally different session to those of you that attend now. We were two meters apart and had separate toy baskets, but the "why" has always been the same: to help and support as many families as we can to be the listening ear and the support network that is accessible to everyone.

Back then I was able to come in alternate Friday's (to fit around work commitments). As the years have gone by we upped our sessions and I had and wanted to give up work to continue our vision, this meant that in order to do so I have to bring in a wage. This is where a huge chunk of where Mummy and Me money goes (even though I earn less than minimum wage, so that we can keep on running), Lena herself doesn't take a wage and drives from Cornwall three times a week (I told you I was dealing with a mad woman)! Our vision is and always will be the same: to be able to offer free, educational sessions to the Community, to be the smile and support that is there for every single one of you should you need it. To offer the much needed hug and shoulder to cry on whether you are suffering with PND, life is throwing constant dodgeballs your way or you just need to vent! Equally, we want to offer fun sessions to everyone to give you special time with your little one and the opportunity to make friends.

Now why I think that Charlotte is amazing: Charlotte came to us heavily pregnant, unsure of where to turn and how she was going to keep her head above water mentally with 3 children. She herself has had a poorly baby to deal with and has the strength and determination to bake cakes and biscuits and run a stall for us at our fundraising event and she equally wanted to do something that would help our sessions remain in Torbay (as we're not Government funded, so we are reliant on grants and donations to keep our sessions running).

You Mummies like Charlotte are our why! Even with crippling anxiety you know that we are your safe space, your place to thrive, vent and get support, you are the reason that Lena spends huge amounts of time on the road and filling out forms for grants, you are the reason why Mummy and Me has evolved and is running 5 days a week.

This October marks 5 years of Mummy and Me and 5 years of us loving what we do regardless of any struggles that we have had to face. We thank each and every one of you for being part of Mummy and Me and thank you Charlotte for your determination to bring some money in, we really appreciate it. 😘😘 Xx

πŸ“’πŸ“’πŸ“’CALLING ALL MUMMY TO BE'SπŸ“’πŸ“’πŸ“’
I have had a request to do group Active Birth Classes from a Mummy that did Daisy Birthing with her first child as she would like to make some new Mummy friends for her next baby. I would be looking to start these in Torbay over the next couple of weeks.

For just Β£80.00 you get all the antenatal education you need to prepare you for a birth that's right for you, yoga based moves to help your body for the remainder of your pregnancy and to prepare it for labour and learn breathing techniques that work with your body through each and every stage of labour.

Please drop me a message if you would like to be added to the list.

My journey with The Daisy Foundation.

I’m Kate and I’m your local teacher for The Daisy Foundation.

I cover the whole of the Torbay and from the Spring I shall be able to offer you the whole perinatal package, offering you and your growing family support from bump through to 2 years post birth.

I first found The Daisy Foundation back in 2012 while pregnant with my first son. I absolutely loved the classes and all it had to offer! I went into labour feeling calm, confident and prepared with a toolbox full of information to allow me the best labour for both me and my son.

I then went back to The Daisy Foundation in 2015, so that I was able to surround myself and my second son with the Daisy love and relaxation that I had with my first. For me, this time it was special one-to-one time with my bump.
