🗨️ We know that compassionate, engaging learning is the best way to tackle stigma around mental health—at work and beyond. Our courses are practical, interactive, and designed to be genuinely useful. Through hands-on activities and evidence-based techniques, we help people understand themselves and others—like why anxiety triggers that natural fight-or-flight response—and give them tools they can actually use.

🔵 The goal is simple: skills and strategies that make a real difference, immediately. People leave feeling more confident in how they communicate, manage emotions, and support those around them.

🟢 For us, the biggest reward is seeing that impact extend beyond the workplace—helping people feel better in their everyday lives too ❤️.

💫 This isn’t just training. It’s a chance to change the way people think, feel, and lead. If you want more than a tick-box exercise for your team or community, let’s have a conversation.

🧠 We say “prevention is better than cure” all the time in healthcare. Mental health first aid is important — but it’s reactive by design. It’s crisis support. It helps after something has gone wrong.

💡 Our Focus
At Mindmaps Wellbeing, we’re evolving our focus. We're shifting attention to the power of preventative training — the kind that helps people understand their stress responses, spot early warning signs, and feel empowered to act sooner. To go deeper into the things which actually help, rather than theory for theory's sake.

💫 Workshops
That’s why we’re putting our specialist, nurse-educator led workshops centre stage — delivered by registered mental health nurses who bring both clinical expertise and real-world understanding of how to support people before things reach crisis point.

🚀 Leadership
We’re also championing leadership as a crucial lever for change. Our Compassionate Leadership course is designed for anyone who manages people. It’s especially powerful for middle managers, who carry pressure from both directions — and are uniquely placed to role-model wellbeing, offer support, and influence culture from the top down.

🔎 As an unbiased, external provider, we offer something internal teams often can’t: an objective lens on the hidden barriers to wellbeing in your workplace — and how to shift them.

Our training offer:
🟢 Wellbeing-focused but crisis prepared
🟢 Designed and delivered by mental health nurse-educators
🟢 Clinical insight and practical strategies provide actionable takeaways
🟢 Flexible delivery – multiple workshops in a day = wider reach, lower cost

This approach prepares people for crisis — but focuses on preventing it in the first place. Its a shift that workplaces serious about wellbeing can’t afford to ignore.

21/11/2025

💪 At work and beyond, phrases like ‘don’t be soft,’ ‘stop being a girl’s blouse,’ ‘pull yourself together,’ and ‘be strong’ reflect outdated ideas about masculinity — rewarding stoicism, silencing emotions, and ridiculing vulnerability. It highlights the damage that can come from harmful gender norms and expectations. These messages don’t just affect individuals—they shape entire workplace cultures where harmful behaviours are tolerated, even expected.

❗ Introducing our workshop "Just Grow A Pair: The mental health cost of ‘man up’ culture at work".

💥 This workshop isn’t about blame; it’s about naming the invisible rules many must follow—rules that demand a hard, stoic image of strength while also requiring suppression or hiding of emotions like anger; since expressing them openly is often deemed unacceptable. This double bind punishes vulnerability, forcing people to navigate conflicting expectations.

As a result, many avoid seeking help even in crisis, with evidence showing men are more likely than women to reach breaking point without discussing their mental health due to stigma, fear of judgement, and pressures to appear strong and in control.

🟢 This workshop explores how judgement, bias, and unspoken assumptions can isolate people, escalate conflict, and prevent them from working productively, safely and compassionately. It looks at the consequences of anger, the pressure to perform with strength, and how everyday phrases can reinforce harm. More importantly, it offers tools for change, so we can open up new conversations and better support ourselves and others.

🔶 For any team ready to rethink how expectations are expressed, supported, and discussed, to build a culture of honesty, emotional safety, and meaningful change.

🎓 Spotlight on Schools: More schools than ever have been reaching out to us in 2025 — a sign that leaders are seeing the real need for meaningful mental health training for staff. Not just to tick boxes, but to make a genuine difference before challenges escalate.

🔶 Many schools are already putting initiatives in place, like our applied psychoeducation workshops and the Compassionate Leadership course. When staff feel supported, the whole school community benefits. Stronger, safer environments help young people flourish and thrive.

🟢 Mindmaps Wellbeing’s training is led by Mental Health Nurse-Educator Tim Lloyd, who brings 18 years of NHS experience and over a decade as a Practice Tutor for the Open University’s nursing programme. Tim’s passion for teaching and helping others develop professionally naturally led to the creation of Mindmaps Wellbeing in 2018.

💡 If you want to strengthen your school’s approach to mental health, we can help. Our 2-hour workshops tackle the real pressures staff face — from stress, burnout, and heavy workloads to the daily challenges of managing safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral care alongside teaching.

🫵 When it comes to mental wellbeing, your small actions can create lasting cultural change. We can all make a difference and break down the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness.

Confidence and skill in having meaningful, sometimes difficult conversations can prevent issues from escalating. We shouldn’t have to wait for crisis or absence before stepping in. When people understand the signs and feel able to approach someone early, support becomes timely, compassionate, and far more effective. It should be a normal part of the everyday conversations we all have.

⭐️ We are proud to deliver mental health and wellbeing training that goes above and beyond what you may have experienced before. Lets normalise not stigmatise, because we all have mental health!

We know that mental wellbeing can be an intense subject, so we design our courses and workshops to be as fun and interactive as possible, with lots of laughter a part of the learning where we can. Our workshops are an accessible 2-hours, and packed full of practical, engaging content which humanises the topics and gives maximum value for our delegate's time.

Many workplace mental health courses are run by people who know business pressures or a specific industry—but haven’t worked on the front line of mental health care. Supporting mental health at work isn’t just theory; it takes real understanding and skilled hands to make a difference.

🔅 Modern mental health nursing blends science with the art of communication—using knowledge, empathy, and skill to connect, build trust, and create space for conversations that spark real change. That’s what we did in clinical practice, and it’s what we continue to do at Mindmaps Wellbeing.

We bring real-world experience, empathy, and practical insight to every session, creating training that genuinely connects with people.

🟢 Our aim is simple: give you skills and knowledge you can use straight away to support others AND look after yourself.

We do this because we care about workplace wellbeing, and about challenging the misconceptions around mental health and mental illness that still cause misunderstanding and stigma in 2025.

13/11/2025

Unwelcome change is something we all have to face throughout our lives. And as Viktor Frankl reminds us: "when we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves". Dubbed a "hero for the helpless", and the author of "Man's Search For Meaning", his books and teachings of survival have helped others find hope in even the most unimaginable struggles.

🧠 When we pay attention to our experience in the present moment, with openness rather than judgement, it helps us step back from unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and sensations, creating space to respond more calmly and accept a situation just as it is (especially when we can't change it). This makes it more likely we will move forward in our actions based on our values, not our emotional response, and adapt better in the longer term.

🟢 Our 2-hour workshop "Change Happens! Reframing uncertainty in a changing world" offers practical support in helping people to accept, adapt and thrive through change and uncertainty. Workplace change can stir up anxiety, confusion, and resistance. Even positive change can leave people feeling unsettled or unsupported if they don't have the skills to adapt.

This interactive and evidence-informed workshop helps staff reframe the way they experience change. Participants are encouraged to explore their own responses to uncertainty and gain a deeper understanding of the psychology behind transition and adaptation. With a focus on practical strategies and mental wellbeing, this session provides a safe space to reflect and respond with meaning.

🔆 With clinical insight and compassionate understanding, our mental health nurse-educators support people to manage change and navigate transitions with confidence.

🔵 Change Happens — but how you respond is what defines the outcome.
