Public Meeting Tonight Regarding latest Camp Road Planning Application

Yet again an application has been resubmitted for a massive housing estate on the greenfield site along Camp Road.

The public meeting, hosted by Freshwater Parish Council, will be held this evening.

Previous objections will not count and new comments to this application are necessary.

To be informed and to inform FPC of your view, please attend this critical meeting.

The event is open to the public, with people encouraged to participate in different musical performances, including solos, ensembles, duets, instrumentalists, pianists, choirs, and solo singers.

The closing event will be the Big Sing, which will include all participants and performers.

A music festival is inviting Isle of Wight musicians to take part.

For years we have been pushed into agreeing large developments on the basis that a small percentage of them would be offered at a reduced rate, typically 80% of market value, to those on the housing register.

Now it seems Labour is poised to increase developer profits by allowing them to be sold at inflated prices on the private market - forever removing them from the pool of social-rent properties for those in greatest need.

"The Government will allow developers to “flip” newly built affordable social housing and sell them at a higher price to private buyers across England, The i Paper has learned.

Developers will be given the green light to convert homes agreed as affordable housing during the planning process into properties that can be sold to investors or owner-occupiers. The plans could be announced as early as next week.

Experts warn the scheme would reduce the number of affordable homes available, and it comes after the Government slashed affordable housing targets in London in a bid to hit its target of building 1.5 million new homes by 2029."
