It's been a long time! My baby girl is now nearly 6 months(!) old and my post-ceasarean body is still recovering and changing every day. I've developed muscles where I didn’t want as I lug two little ones around and about, and lost strength and tone where it once used to be. My body feels tight and tense; like it needs to be stretched, pulled and untwisted. I want to regain strength, flexibility and fitness, but I lack time and motivation. However, after the sickness bug hit our house, and the last 24 hours have been immersed in cleaning up sick with the washing machine constantly running, I felt that this morning was the moment to start a few Pilates exercises again to not only clear my head but also to re-align my twisted body (after an hour or two sleeping in a toddler bed last night). And oh my do I feel better! Taller and lighter and a little bit stretched. From now on I’m going to really make an effort to do a little every day and try to re-build strength in my body, as I’m reminded just how good it makes you feel. I have no idea if/when I’ll start teaching again, but if anyone is keen let me know and maybe we can put a plan into action.
