💚 Apparently Tony wrote the book after working in a hospice and developing an interest in psychology and bereavement counselling. His concern was that loss and bereavement we don’t talk about bereavement as much as we should.

💚 Never be afraid to talk about how you feel – reach out to friends or counsellors or even strangers.

💚 But also pick up a book that can give you ideas of how to work through your feelings.

6️⃣ tips for sharing the news of your loss on social media

1️⃣ Write with sensitivity. Would you be happy to read what you have written? Make sure it won’t offend anyone.

2️⃣ Warn your readers with a header saying sad news.

3️⃣Time it right. If is it not an immediate family member, give them time to get over their initial grief. If it is, make sure all family members are in agreement before posting.

4️⃣ Purpose of the post. Decide why and what you want to post and if it is the best place. Details of the funeral, the person or to share grief.

5️⃣ Simple is best. Once you have a purpose, stick to the purpose. If it is the date, time and place of the funeral and wake, stick to that.

6️⃣Privacy settings. Adjust your settings to only allow those who you want to see the post can see it. Ask someone in the know if you don’t know how.
