Adult friendships
As you get older it’s increasingly difficult to create and build new friendships (for me anyway but I’m sure I’m not alone). The majority of my friends are from when I was young, school/ college/ uni and that’s just the norm for a lot of people.
I was in a challenging living situation when I moved to Manchester. I was on my own, my sale/ purchase was taking forever and a day, I still had to pay for my home in Birmingham but I had to live in Manchester. This lead me to live for several month in an air B&b. Luckily for me this was one of the best things that could ever have happened for me!! My lovely host is now a very good friend (my first Manny friend 😂) and she has introduced me to a whole heap of amazing and super interesting people!!! I am forever grateful.
It’s hard to meet new people, get out of your comfort zone and actually put yourself out there to build new friendships but it’s 100% worth it because you will find one that just fits.
I don’t like meeting new people, it makes me super anxious and I just overthink about how I’m coming across, do they like me, do they think I’m a dick etc. BUT I make myself do it!!!
Some of the little gems that have come from this …
- My Herbalife girls
- My TNF friends
- Friends through friends (as pictured above)
- Mileshy running group friends
- Herbalife friends outside of my team - My current work friends
So, if you’ve got to the bottom of this then we’ll done lol. Take it as your sign to go out and make those new connections. Surround yourself with positive likeminded people and if they don’t like you then move on, it’s their loss not yours!! You will attract the people that are right for you 🤍
